The event this week is the AKB48 Fashion Collection Christmas SP. Sata's quick to question why Takamina's wearing her Banana Parka, which she protests is fashionable, it should be noted that the judge agreed with her the first time we saw it.
Speaking of the judge, he runs a fashion magazine as I understand, and they bring him in twice a year for these fashion shows. He rates the clothes as either 'Fashionable' (pink), 'Sort of Fashionable' (green), 'Sort of Unfashionable' (purple) and Unfashionable (brown)
The first event is to show what you would wear to impress your sempai at christmas dinner (as far as I can tell).
First up is Mariko-sama, who we're reminded last to entries were both rated as Fashionable. She comes in wearing a brown open jacket with a brown sweater underneath and a white shirt under that. Her skirt is a light brown with 4 layers of white fur at intervals up the skirt. She wears pink leggings with a heart on them, as well as high-leg boots with high heels on them, and finishes off with her 'Ue Kara Mariko Pose'. Personally I quite like it. When they discuss the clothes though Mariko reveals the shirts just a collar stuffed under the jumper. Amin apparently loves it, whilst Sasshi makes some witty comment. The judge rates it as Fashionable, proving Mariko to be the AKB Fashion Queen. He also points out how the colours work, as well as the skirt.
Next up is Kojiharunyannyan (if only I could fit 'Kojipa' in somehow), who's noted as having shown relative fashion competence in the past, with 2 'Fashionables' and 2 'Sort of Fashionables'. She has a white furry jacket, with a lace shirt underneath with a black skirt, tights, and black high heels with white toes and heels. She also has a cute, black riggon in her hair as well as heart earrings. She also has a handbag. She looks quite nice if you ask me (but don't do that, my fashion sense is appalling, plus thats what the guy judgings for). The judge rates it a Fashionable, and says the legs and the hadnbag work well. Akimoto raises some complaint I'm sure is related to one of these she did in the past, but the judge goes on to compliment her hair decs.
Next up is Tomo~mi, who it seems hasn't done this before (this kind of surprises me for some reason). She has a peach(?) coat, with a lace frilly top underneath, and a pink skirt. I like it. However apparently it's sort-of unfashionable, to a fair few surprised faces. Apprently the skirt and coat clash, which I can see now, as well as some issue with her legs.
We then get his chosen best of the 3, he selects Haruna. He then also says it's Mariko. Chiyuu~ complains, so he hands her the board with her category on it, but she still looks grumpy.
The second theme is somehing to do with a christmas date. We also get a reminder that several girls have gotten the worst ratings before, but told one will today get the Fashionable rating.
Up first is Miichan, who has consistently gotten Unfashionables in 3 previous attempts. Not really sure whats wrong with the second 2 though. Minegishi is wearing a black dress under a scarf, which has a hood on it. She also has a green patchwork bag, as well as knee-high blue socks and orange high heels. I can see problems with this, I won't lie. After demonstrating that she looks quite good without the scarf, she gets down on her knees to beg for an improved ranking. The judge has her put the bag down and take off the high heels. She looks much improved like that. However the judhe gives her an unfshionable, presumably on the original outfit. This causes her to fall to the ground. She then decides she's putting the high heels back on, as Takamina and Sashi tell her not to. However it's still Unfashionable (she looks gourgeous without anything she removed though). She puts on the scarf, but the judge explains the black clashes with the snow (I guess).
Up next is Yokoyama Yui (yay!!). I know she appeared before but I don't know the ranking. Yui walks on and OHMYGODSHESBEAUTIFUL. Oh wait thats all the time, never mind. She has a white jumper, a checked mini-skirt, long boots with heels and a red bag. I like it, but I can see things he'll likely pick on. She's rated as Sort of Unfashionable, which is either an improvement or the same but SHELOOKSWONDERFULDAMNIT. He has her try on Kojima's jacket, which makes her look better.
Up last is Sae. She's also appeared thrice beforehand with ratings of Unfashionable. Okaaaaaaayyyyyy then. Brown hooded jacket over red jumper with a face over white shirt which is also coming underneath the jumper. She's wearing Mickey ears fixed with the wizard hat from Fantasia. I don't know how to describe the pants. Theres apparently something noteworthy about her ring. She also has leopard print shoes. I don't see this doing well. It's rated Unfashionable. I'm guessing the thing earlier was asking if any of them will get a Fashionable rating earlier, not that they will.
AKB News next (damn cliffhangers). The first announcement is more news about Team A's Iwasa Misaki's upcoming solo debut, which will have an enka theme. We're also shown a sample of the PV for no3b's new single, Pedicure Day. The main song this week is SDN48's 4th and possible last single; Kudoki nagara Azabu Juuban duet with Mino Monta.
We then get the choice for best fashion out of the three of them. Sae attempts to win by jumping in front of him, but he chooses Yui (YAAY!!!). He then decides to name Sae's fashion as the worst. Next weeks more fashion.

AKBINGO 111214
Prepare for this week to be less understood than last week.
We're back to the normal opening now, and since I did it last time I'll go over the orders here.
Maeda Atsuko, Kojima Haruna, Takahashi Minami, ???, Kitahara Rie, Minegishi Minami, Itano Tomomi, Kashiwagi Yuki, Takajo Aki, Miyazaki Miho, Watanabe Mayu, Sashihara Rino, Oshima Yuko, Matsui Rena, Matsui Jurina, Akimoto Sayaka, Kasai Tomomi, Miyazawa Sae, Shinoda Mariko.
From what I understand of this game, around half the girls in the session dress up as boys, and when given the situations by Sata, who serves as the teacher, they give a suggestion they think will appeal to girls, which the girls sat watching can show their approval of by waving their fans. The initial entrance leaves quite an impression, but the last to enter, late, is a rather large individual. Amongst our boys are: Sashihara, Kitahara, Mineshishi, Miyakawa, Takahashi, Itano, Yokoyama, Shinoda, Akimoto and someone else.
Amongst the girls watching are Umeda, Nito, Fujie, Amina, Ami, Kasai, Oya, Sakiko, Sumire.
The first thing Sae says calls a mass of approval, Tomochin gets points for being cool.
The first thing is a '3S' one where each sentence must start with an s.
The first 2 sentences are given, 'sawayaka; meaning refreshing/invigorating, and 'Seijitsu' relating to honesty.
Suggested sentences are: Something from Sasshi, which is at least understood, and Ayaka supports it, and Sayaka demonstrates to a mass of support. Takahashi says something to do with white suits, which after explaining it gets a cry of approval. Next is Yui, who looks better here than last time they did this, and aw look she's getting all embarassed by Sata's comments. Her doesn't get much support. Sayaka says something to do with 100, not sure what. Itano next, and Sata doesn't seem to thinke hers is much good, but what he's saying is met with approval. Next we have Minegishi and WHY MUST YOU LOOK SO GOOD AS A BOY??? the comment about Sashihara is met with some approval. Sashihara goes next, followed by our mystery contender, who's coment is at least noted as kind of cute. Shinoda's gets her hit with a slipper. Kitahara gets maximum approval. So does Minegishi.
We move on to a new topic. This time the girls have to fill a gap in the steps. It has something to do with christmas presents.
I think Takahshi's involves proping marriage, but gets little support. Sae's, invoving Game Centre and UFO leads to max approval. I think Miegishi was just advertising a DVD of hers. Takahshi then gives an advert for no3b's new single, followed by Mariko advertising Ue Kara Mariko, but somewhere, either the advert or Sata's slipper slap gets high approval.Coem to think of it a few of those girls are in the Janken Senbatsu. Tomochin also advertises Ue Kara Mariko, though since she's not in that it's odd. Unless she's advertising the christmas B-Side. Sae once again gets max approval. Kitahara's wall of text gets some fair approval. Mariko's one involves ones grandmother. Sayaka's apparently shocks a few of the girls.
We come to another round, involving a question. Takahashi's does OK. Minegishi's doesn't quite appeal as much as she has before. Mariko's falls flat. Kitahra's was apparently cute, and we see Yui and mystery girl discussing something. However when Yui delivers we don't get much. Mariko's next one was funny.
The next event involves what you'll say while defending a girl from some punks. Once again Yui and mystery girl have discussed something, which leads to myster girl getting slipper slapped. Takahashi's does alright, Tomochin's causing a wierd reaction from Sata. Mariko basically says 'wait a minute now'. Kitahara's gets appreciated, and Mystery girl's was just funny. Miichan has written 'Hello, my name is Takeshi. Konohito wa tashkete agete forpasmi please' whatever that means. Yui gives another courtesy of mystery girl. Shinoda gives a gag. Tomochin's causes Sata to call out in surprise. I just noticed some of the girls at the back have gone. Guess we know who some of next times boys will be. Takahashi's falls flat, and another one from Yui makes some coment on Kiyoto. Shinoda's next one is just 'Sata'. Yui's next one seems to be some kind of Kaiju.
AKB48 News now. The first part seems to be about some event, or maybe 3, the last one seems to be with Yuko as centre. We also have something on Ue Kara Mariko, probably it selling more than 1,000,000 copies on the first week. We're then given the music video for the christmas B-side. Next week we're getting a winter fashion show.
We finish off with Takahashi giving one more suggestion, which turns into a duest with Sayaka.
And thats that. I might update this when I have a better idea what's going on, but for now I reccomend checking Smilodon's Tumblr, listed on the side in a day or 2, as it'll no doubt be far more accurate, if far more compact. Oh and Yui's in the christmas B-side. Maybe we'll get some fashion from her next time. And just a few weeks now till we possibly get another Prank episode or 2.

AKBINGO 111207
Airing on Yui's birthday (airing at 24:30, so actually on the 8th locally, this doesn't feature Yui, unless she's in the stage performance.
Same opening as last time, Maeda Ami, Oya Shizuka, Fujie Reina, Matsui Sakiko, Nito Moeno, Satou Sumire, Takeuchi Miyu, Miyazaki Miho, Ichikawa Miori, Shimuda Haruka.
Continuing with last weeks events. Today begins with an event I've only scene once before, the aim is to say as long a word as possible, taking on piece of bread per syllable, so at the end all the bread is gone, however they must start with the last character of the previous persons word, and one piece of bread has a character on it which has to have that character said to be removed.
AKB's team for this event is Miyu, Shimuda, Ami, Moeno, Sakiko and Fresh Lemon. The character to pick up is 'sa'. The voice gives an order of 'no', and Miyu gives 'Nora Neko' or stray cat, Shimuda only just gets in Koala, Ami gives Lion King (7 characters!), Moeno give 'gui' or pile, Sakiko gives 'Ika-zashi' or squid gill apparently as well as taking out the 'sa', Miori to finish gives 'shimauma' or zebra.
SKE's team is Kuwabara Mizuki, Hiramatsu Kanako, Kizaki Yuria, Takayanagi Akane, Sawaka Hato and Matsui Rena. Before starting Sata asks Yuria for 24/6, she does 5*6=30, then does 6*4=27 before realising that's wrong. The answer is 4 by the way. He then has Hato sing 'Bicutori'. That's in english by the way. The character to pick up is 'ku'. The starting order is 'so', leading to socks, leading to 'suzumebachi' or hornet, 'chikamichi' or shortcut which was noted for starting and ending in the same character, 'chikatetsu' or the metro, 'Tsukemono' or pickles and Rena can't think of anything and get's sprayed. Sata quickly offers to words she could have used, noise and note.
AKB again. 'a' is the special character. Order is 'mu'. The words are: 'murasaki imo' or purple yam, Shimuda again barely gets 'mozuku' a type of seaweed, crystal, romania, 'ame' rain and 'medata' to stand out.
SKE's turn. The special character is 'a'. The order is 'na', leading to, 'nagatto' (no idea what this), triangle, route, 'tomegane' or hook, 'nezumi' or mouse and finally 'mikan' or mandarin.
AKB's turn, but now we have 2 characters, 'e' and 'ke', the order is 'hi'. Hyogo (a prefecture), Goroshike (no idea), some kind of mobile phone I decided as it was taking too much time, Masahiro I think, it's a name, Goma which I think is foreign and Mari.
SKE, characters are 'sa' and 'ni', and the order is 'he'. 'Heso rori' or belly button, restructure, lucky, 'gitaku', Kumonshiki and 'kuta no kini' or north coutry, on the last second, but she's sprayed. It turns out at least one girl took too many pieces.
The score is 3-1 to AKB
I feel I should note we are ten minutes in. It took me 3 hours to get here, and I haven't found all the words.
In the second round the first 5 girls construct a picture of the word, and the 6th girl guesses the word.
AKB's team is Ami, Fujie, Lemon, Shimuda, Shizuka and Myao guessing. Like with the clay I'm going to take my own guess after all 5 have gone, then say the guesser's, and what it was.
I think it's some kind of fruit. Myao reckons it's 'natsu', summer, and she's wrong.I think she then suggested Michael Jordan. I don't know what it was.
SKE's team is Rena, Takayanagi Akane, Kimoto Kanon, Akari Suda, Masana Oya and guessing is Ogiso Shiori. Kanon is made to draw/write SKE for some reason, which is just as well, I couldn't find her name until it told me she was in Team E. On to the word. The best guess I have is a zombie killing pirate. Shiori guesses kendo, and is cleared.
AKB again. As far as I can tell this guys fighting an evil cello with musical notes. Myao suggests what I'm pretty sure was GARO. Sadly she's wrong, as that would've been awesome. She suggests something else (betabel?) and is sprayed again.
SKE again. I'm unorthodoxly guesing from point 2 that it's Kamen Rider. I think point 4 is a poor attempt at a bike. Shiori here guesses Bobby Orogon, who I guess is a wrestler. The guys operating the jets deliberately mess with her by waiting a couple of seconds before spraying. The correct answer was bodybuilder.
Over the day AKB has won 3 to 2.
We then get a Phrasemuseum segment (Yay). I'm not sure if I've explained this, but on the website a topic is advertised and fans can submit lines on the subject for their favorite members to use. Kiyoto chooses between the two and paints on the losers face. Unless it's Mariko. Amina delivers her line, which I guess was kind of funny, and I can't tell who the other one is. Fortunately for me Amina wins, and the other girl get's a monobrow, mustache and goatee.
We now get AKBNEWS. SDN48 is releasing their 4th (and possibly last) single Kudoki Nagara Azuba Juuban, which is a duet with Mino Monta, which I assume is a big deal.
We then get a stage performance of Ue Kara Mariko, and Yui does get an AKBINGO appearance on her birthday, hooray for members not being there.
Next week sees a return of this 'Danso school' thing which I missed the first time, but have seen since.
Same opening as last time, Maeda Ami, Oya Shizuka, Fujie Reina, Matsui Sakiko, Nito Moeno, Satou Sumire, Takeuchi Miyu, Miyazaki Miho, Ichikawa Miori, Shimuda Haruka.

AKBINGO 110209 and 110216
This is part of the Yui birthday celebration, as I learnt today (Wednesday locally) that I actually first saw Yui in this, before I knew she existed.
Danso events are where the girls dress up as boys and perform scenes to appeal to the 20 members watching, who will then vote for the favorite. Kasai and Amina, who were very excited by the performances.
Miyazawa goes first. Yuko is a schoolgirl being harassed by invisible biker thugs when Sae enters as a cool biker. 'He' scares them off, and both the removing suglasses and cracking her neck causes major squeals. The two have some banter, before he turns to leave, Yuko stops him to say thank you, he then takes hold of her chin and comments on how cute she is from that angle. They then ride off on an invisble bike. The scene gets a good score of 17, it seems Kasai likes it so much she's embarressed, but Amina offers her opinion on making it better.
Mayu is up next. Myao is a girl in hospital, and Mayu, her handsome young doctor comes to tell her she's doing well, but Myao isn't convinced she'll get better, before joking a kiss will help her. To her surprise he grabs her shoulders, and uses some magical words. The scene caused Shizuka to cry because Mayu's character doesn't exist, but Mayu offers her some comforting words, increasing the tears. The scene earns 18 votes. The scene has given Kasai a completely different view of Mayu as well.
Next up is Maeda Ami. Tomochin is a princess (I wish I had subs right now, they used to be up for this) and calls her butler. Ami comes on to a big reaction from Kasai and Amina. Itano wants to do something, but anything she suggests is forbidden by her father, as Ami reminds her. She asks why he's always like this, and Ami gets down on one knee to say he will always prtect her. The girls look a little shcoked at the end. Amina gives her thoughts, and when Kasai is asked her opinion she can initially only give the OK sign, before giving her opinion. ultimately though she only gets 11 points.
Finally for the first episode is Sayaka. So this seems to be Segoku period, Kitahara is lonely at home, when her husband, a warlord returns home. She gives him sake. After a small argument she says it seems he just wants to fight all the time, but he says it's because he needs to protect her. However Sayaka ruins the end with this battle cry, which wasn't scripted and was apparently due to her being nervous. This probably contributed to the score of 9.
The winner is of course Mayu at the end.
No, I'm not doing AKB NEWS for this, it aired 10 months again. OK then, lets have a laugh. We have the PV for Sakura no Ki ni Kaoru, though this was back when we didn't have 4 PVs in a row.
And now we go straight into the second part.
Takahashi up first. Tomochin doesn't feel like going to school on that day, and Takahashi, who seems to be an old friend of hers. He tries to encourage her to go to school, but she refuses, and he does, well, just watch it. She stops him, and asks why he has to be like that, and he says something about always supporting her or something. Tomomi points out Takahashi's nostril flaring after, and Takahashi's forced to reveal she's wearing shoes with high heels to give herself height when she's the shorter by 8cm. The scores are now out of 18, but only come to 10 , giving her effectively the same score as Ami. Soemone points out they don't like the headband, and when she removes it there is a score of cheers, she then undoes the top button, proving she should have goen for a different look, as now far more say they'd vote if she looked like that.
Up next is the girl we're all here for, Yui (We are all here for her, right?). Yuko is at home, alone, sewing something, when a voice declares Yui is home. She's in a korean military uniform, and I'd defect for that. Not that either government would care much about me. Anyway, he apologises for being gone so long, and even offers her a present in the form of a locket. She thinks he cares more about fighting than her, but he says he fights for her. If you'd been watching this you'd know that Amina had been covering her mouth for most of this, and Sata asks why. She manages to get out how handsome Yui looks and how she has a thing for militairy uniforms. Sata has Yui salute her, and she just dies in effect. The final score is 13.
Next up is Sashihara. Myao is at a hairdressers, and asks for Sashihara. Rino comes on as a stylish hairdresser, and a trilby, and believe me when I say I'd hit that. Miho asks for her hair to be cut a certain way, and Rino asks whats wrong with it as it is, and the special words are about how Miho's hair is the most beautiful in the world (maybe). She gets 16 points.
Finally we have Kojiharu. Kitahara seems excited about a performance, only for the centreof the act to come nearby. She apologises nervously and tries to leave, but he grabs her arm. Eventually he offers her a backstage tour it seems. I don;t think the girls liked Harunyan's dress sense. In the end she gets 5 points. Among the ones who voted are Miori and the two NMB girls who's names if I'm lucky I'll have learnt by easter. The winner is Sashi.
We then get a Phrasemuseum scene (How I miss you). I think the topic is something you'd say when giving a confession to your crush. Yukirin goes first, and Kiyoto makes some comment on it. Opposite her is Sae. Kiyoto chooses Sae's phrase, and so paints some yellow spots on Yuki's face.
We then get the stage performance of Sakura no Ki ni Kaoru, but with Yui as centre. Turns out the week after we had the Burger Shop Battle. Speaking of which...
AKBINGO 111130
So the opening this week is a little different, the stills are from the photo of the AKB girls in SKE uniform from last week. In order: Maeda Ami, Oya Shizuka, Fujie Reina, Matsui Sakiko, Nito Moeno, Satou Sumire, Takeuchi Miyu, Miyazaki Miho, Ichikawa Miori, Shimuda Haruka. Of the three alternate openings I’ve seen, it’s definitely the least odd (The first featured Idolling!!!, and had their own members and played one of their songs, and the title was given as Idolling!!! 0ji 59fun, the second had Miichan’s face on all of the members, and Aitakatta sung with just her vocals, you can find out why on AKB48’s youtube channel.)
This week we’re celebrating the end of 3 weeks of AKB48 vs SKE48 by playing the Time Pressure Battle Burger Shop!!! (Exclamtions added for affect) against SKE. To be fair the SKE girls are wearing a completely new maid outfit 9it’s blue, and continuing against SKE makes sense given how this show is filmed.) Shimada questions the decoration on Sata’s head, which is to represent SKE’s new burger chain. It seems we’ve gotten rid of Chura for this which I can forgive, he didn’t add much. So we have Shachihoko vs Kiyotaki. One SKE girl delivers an insult to AKB, and Shizuka is forced into responding. It falls flat.
As we get into rule explanations, it seems they couldn’t afford a new logo, as the new one is just Boss Burger’s with Sata’s head gear thrown on. We start with the word association variation.
AKB goes first, in order: Ami, Sakiko, Miori, Moeno, Miyu and guessing the word is Shimuda. The first order is love letter, the hints given: love, heart, Miori barely gets transfer or say in, valentine, and feeling, Shimuda gives chocolate and is sprayed, she says she came to her conclusion from Miori ans Moeno’s hints, but gets it when some of the others say Kaku.
SKE’s first turn: with Rena, Sawako, Shiori, Yuria, Mizuki and guessing the order is Akane (I may have gotten a few of these ones wrong). The word is: Chunichi Dragons, the baseball team for Aichi prefecture, and the hints are: blue, ???, Koala,??? , Nagoya, and the answer guessed is ??? and she’s sprayed. An additional hint of Matsunami is given, and she gets it.
AKB again, the order is: ???, the hints, ???, showdown, red, Moeno doesn’t make it, hall, the guess from Shimuda is correct this time
Another attempt from SKE, The order is christmas. The hints, in order are: tree, present, snow, white and tree again, leading to a correct guess (I mean I got this once I’d translated the 3rd one). Mizuki tries to make an excuse that she thought Rena was referring to something else, but is subjugated to the spray along with (said white).
And so we move to the second stage with the scores 1 all. This time they have to make a model out of play dough to show what the word is. For this stage I’m going to say after all 5 have done it what I think it is, what they say, and what it is.
AKB first again: Miori, Miyu, Fujie, Myao, Shizuka and guessing is Ami. Ichikawa’s idea is noted as being NICE, and in the end I have no idea, something to do with sushi, and it sounds like Ami thinks so too, but judging by the spraying and the fact it uses the wrong characters, I’m guessing it was wrong, turns out it wasn’t ‘O sushi’ (Sushi) but kaiten sushi (with the conveyor belts).
SKE’s first turn: Akane, Masana, Rena, Kanon, Akari, guessing is Kanako. I have no idea; initially I thought it was a snowman, now it looks like some kind of alien. Kanako suggests what seems to translate as lion dance, immediately cowers in fear, and rightly so. After some hints she’s able to guess though. Actually from one angle they show it looks like an elephant.
AKB again. Looks to me like the sky. Ami thinks it’s Mt. Fuji. She’s wrong. It’s Cinderella, but so much more noticeable after Shizuka’s modification.
SKE’s turn. Looks like a giant worm near a sand dune really. The guess is correct, and hopefully by the time this is up I’ll have found out what it was. Apparently what Rena did got her sprayed.
And now we finally return to a live performance, here of Ue Kara Mariko. Fortunately featuring Mariko.
We end with Rena’s spraying again (she is the highest profile member there, she was 10th in the AKB election I believe) and Sakiko declaring victory. In English.
With thanks to Smilodon of HJU for filling in some of the blanks

AKBINGO 111123
Continuing with the Kizuna battle between AKB and SKE, I'm not going to remind you whos involved.
We start with a put-down session started by Myao, the SKE girls she directs her criticism to then delivering her own to her, while confirming that 3 times 7 is in fact 21. Also 6 times 7 is 44. When this is called out on she decide its 49.
The first round this week, and 4th overall has two teams of 3 against a black wall, starting with them in a sitting position against it. A burst of smoke is launched from a box, as demonstrated by a certain admins' avatar featuring Yukirin. Kyoto is using abox pointing at SKE and Chura has a box pointed at AKB. The first burst does little except cause irritation, but as Sata goes to point somethign out the middle SKE girl falls to the floor. After the seconf burst Sata tells them they now have to be only 10cm off the ground, however before the next burst is fired Myao slips to the ground. Sata has them adjust their heights again, but this causes another SKE girl to slip. They're about to fire again when the last SKE girl slips winning the game for AKB. The ranking is now 2:1 to AKB.
Sata announces the LAST BATTLE, which is a skipping competition I know I've seen before in early days, but then it was the AKB teams against eachother. Basically each team has to skip together over the skipping rope. SKE has their first go, reaching the impressive result of 60. AKB easily smash their training record of 20, and manage to beat SKE's score by just 1 jump. Befoe SKE's second challenge Rena gives the others a bit of encouragement. Not only do they reach 62, they go up another 40 to 102. AKB has their next go, without Myao for some reason ,and again make it by just one jump, hitting 103.
So AKB have one with 3 wins to 1, and we're given a shot of the AKB girls in SKE's uniform.
AKB News this weeks starts by telling us again about French Kiss's 4th single, followed by revealing the selected members of HKT48. Something is said about a new single from Watarirouka Hashiritai 7, which we're then treated to the music video to. Okay seriously how many AKB related singles are being released at the moment? We've had a music video every one of the last 4 weeks.
Looks like next week we're getting a return of the burger game, but with SKe still around in a new blue outfit. Can we at least get some new AKB girls in?

Sim talks AKB48: AKBINGO sumarised
As you may have have noticed I’ve watched a fair amount of AKBINGO even before I started these reviews so I’m just going to talk about some of the more regular events.
In the early days, and presumably beforehand, there was a game where 4 members, with mouse ears and painted on whiskers, in order to win some prize (food) had to choose from one of 5 mouse holes, corresponding to one of 5 options, the aim either to guess which of the options was either the real one or the made-up one, if all 4 got it right they got the food, if one of them got it wrong all of them already in the holes had flour dropped on them. The one I best remember was the 5th episode of ‘AKBINGO’, where the girls had to guess which of 5 women Kyoto’s mother was, complete with us learning that his mother had left him at an early age and he’d gone into entertainment in the hope of drawing her attention. (They spoke for the first time in years just before recording.) This is also the only one I remember the girls winning. I also remember for one hint the prospective mothers were all asked to pick which member they would pick as a wife for Kyoto, and one of them (possibly even the real one) picked both Itano and Kasai (both have given name of Tomomi).
Another early game had a team of 4 girls compete against a team made of Bad Boys and two others, with the game being led by Oshima Mai and a man in a dog helmet. Each team was presented with an image with something missing, and if you guessed incorrectly what was missing your thrown into a pit of flour. One two-part instead had 8 AKB members compete against 8 members of Idolling!!!, which I best remember for involving Morita Suzuka compete against Tomochin, and not only did she not realise what was wrong with Itano’s one (thinking Subway should be Moss Burger) and then thought the Hollywood sign was missing a period, (it was an L). Sometime later the AKBIdolling!!! Single was released so yeah.
There was briefly a cooking battle, where two teams of 6, in sets of 2, prepared various recipes in 3 stages, sometimes with ingredients missing and having to guess what to use, they were then judged based on how well they turned out.
AKBest 10 featured 10 members demonstrating some talent of theirs, or rather we were told what 5 of them were (Kyoto in cosplay was always 10) and then saw 4 of them actually demonstrate the skill, before a special spotlighted skill, before the number one skill. This notably led to Kuramachi Asuka, after telling her stories about a fighter/wrestler was invited, by the wrestler, to watch one of his matches (his team lost).
There was also the fashion show, where a few members (it started as 4 but later was 3) demonstrated an outfit based on a theme, and a fashion guru would then rate how fashionable they were.
Danso has happened twice to my memory, one member is dressed as a boy, and then acts out a romantic scene with another member, and then the viewing members vote for whether they liked it. My greatest memories involve Kasai look like she was about to jump Mariko and just start making out with her (to be clear, Mariko was in danso), and one girl actually broke down in tears because the boy she’d just seen on stage didn’t exist.
Dodgeball battle is fairly simple, dodgeball, between two teams. The interesting part comes with the punishments, marked on the ball, that you get when it by the ball. Possibly the most common one is the bizarre food eating punishment, where they have to eat something odd. I remember one episode had Yokoyama Yui made to eat some spicy food, and Maeda Atsuko was reminded of when she’d had to eat spicy food (along with a few others) and ran straight for the water. Yui just takes the curry and eats it like its no-one’s business, so Maeda and a few others try it, and run for the water. The other was Tomochin, who was given what I think were some little bugs. She ate them and simply declared them delicious, but I’ll go more into that in a minute.
There is also the Moe game, where a girl will act out a scene alone, in an effort to make 5 men a little ‘hot under the collar’ I seem to remember two winners, one was Kasai as a nurse, the other was Mariko in a girl Santa outfit which she removed the top of (she was still wearing clothes underneath though. If you fail you get a punishment game with this guy who makes you do something really off-putting (what varies).
We also see Shojiki Shogi/Truth Chess, where two girls compile a list of statements about the other they think is true, and choose which questions to use in an attempt to prove three of them are true using a lie detector (the other person has to deny the statement is true). I remember Acchan once getting the statement she couldn’t right Thursday in English, I don’t remember if she got away with it, but she wrote it as Sathday. Another game, Mayuyu against Kojiharu ended with Mayu causing sadness to Minegishi, Yuko and someone else, maybe Takahashi.
The last regular I’ll talk about is the fast world battle which features the girls as rival chains Boss Burger (Orange) and Kiyotaki (pink). When it first appeared they were told a character, and had to form a word of some specific category beginning with that category, another starting with its end character in another category, and then again. Later we got one which involved staring with one character, and each of 6 girls had to take as many pieces of bread, one per character, so they cleared the tray when it got to the end, one piece had a specific character attached. There were also ones where the first 5 members are given a word, and have to represent it in an image altogether using either drawing or clay; if the 6th member guesses the answer incorrectly they get sprayed with carbon dioxide. Alternatively they have to give a hint of the word and the last member guesses the answer from the hints. One time the answer was Kashiwagi Yuki (and Yukirin was first, I think she said French Kiss) I think Ichikawa then said the answer was ‘next to me’.
There are only two one-time deals I feel like talking about. The first was a segment revolving around Tomochin’s terrible sense of taste, as she claims everything she eats is delicious. Sata and Yukirin therefore took her to a Noodle shop with terrible reviews, which Sata admits he’d eaten at before, and the owner prepares two bowls of food. Yukirin says it’s awful, while Tomochin claims it’s delicious and even whips out a seal of approval.
The other was a one-episode feature of hypnotism, which featured Sae feeling like she was being pulled backwards, Mai first forgetting her name, and then giving a different name, the event I mentioned before involving Rena, her arm, and some catchphrase. Takamina was hypnotised so a food she’d always hated now tasted wonderful, even changing the taste while it was in her mouth. Maeda was hypnotised into finding a lizard cute (a fair few other girls ran away when she came close with it, she even put it on her shoulder) and then when she was snapped out of it she freaked out. And finally Mai was given an infatuation with Sayaka, before this was also done to Maeda, causing the two girls to literally fight over Sayaka.
The last thing to talk about is the prank segments, of which there have been 3. 2 of them were for New Year, though I don’t know if the middle one was, as I’ve only seen one prank from it, where Yuko brakes a guitar they’ve just been told is important Sata (Yuko was told to) and she then blames it on Takamina, who accepts the blame before Sata reveals the truth. The first one had the girls given a note from Bad Boys saying the girls were alone for the recording, while they were in fact, along with Acchan and Mariko taking bets on what members’ reactions would be to things, which Mai, helped organise. I specifically remember Yukirin being asked to read some lines from a card by one of the crew, and while he wrote his hair started slipping (he was made up especially for the prank), and Ohori Megumi’s phone falling into a bowl of ramen. This year’s New Year had Bad Boys, along with Tomochin and Mayuyu backstage, after Bad Boys announced their retirement from the show to the girls, with farewell speech and being given flowers and everything. A new comedy duo was brought in as the new hosts, while Miichan was working as a spy for the backstage lot. Among the happenings was Kasai being hostile to the new presenters, a repeat of the hair incident but using Kitahara, and the stage crew instead sweated profusely (again especially made up), with the bonus of the water making what he’d written illegible. They also had one of the duo’s tearful reunion with his estranged mother (having shown literally a complete recreation of the Kyoto’s mother story from 2 years prior) just to see how Takamina (she’s quite empathetic) would react, before announcing the guys brother was also coming, and we get an awesome shot of Sata’s silhouette before he’s revealed, and it’s here the girls realise they’re being played. Amusingly Takamina is resting on Miichans shoulder immediately before Sata reveals Miichan was working for them, causing Kasai and Takahashi to chase her round the studio.

AKBINGO Summaries: 111116
So I'm still doing this. Not that it matters much but hey, it's something to do. We're reminded of a few highlights from the last episode, and then a reminder of who is in this episode, I can only identify 3 by sight still, and I'm sure long term fans of AKB can guess who 2 of them are.
So running from left to right, front to back, we have:
For AKB: Miyazaki Miho, Maeda Ami, Oya Shizuka, Matsui Sakiko, Fujie Reina, Nito Moeno, Sato Sumire, Shimada Haruka, Takeuchi Miyu and Ichikawa Miori.
For SKE: Oya Masana, Matsui Rena, Takayagani Akane, Kizaki Yuria, Hata Sawako, Kuwabara Mizuki, Ogiso Shiori, Hiramatsu Kanako, Kimoto Kanon and soem girl who can't be identified.
(It's interesting to note that while the SKE members are all mixed up, the AKB girls seem to be organised into teams except Myao, which is probably cause shes been there the longest (unless she hasn't).
The first event is a continuation of last times, the girls, in their cosplay outfits and sat in the booths are asked a question and if they all give the same answer they win the round. SKE goes first, and all of their answers are different, so they lose. AKBs is a question with a word missing, apparently about tourist destinations, 3 of the nurses say Tokyo tower, and Ichikawa said a longer version, but Shimada said something completely different. SKE then get another question, which only two of them give the same answer to, so again fail. The police women (no idea who it is, sorry) sings a line, which I guess is from a song by whoever she put. AKB get another question, 3 of them give the answer Fresh Lemon, but the other two are totally different. SKE get another question, possibly about Matsui, which Matsui doesn't get to answer initially, but does afterward. AKBs question is about Shimada, and works the same as Matsui's. In the end neither team has any points.
The next section starts with a comparison (cuteness based?) between Ichikawa and an SKE girl, and then we get Ichikawa head butting the girl (It was planned), another girl puts Rena forward for it, and Rena ... barely reacts.
We then get another game, this time 5 members go into the cubicles, and another 5 members have to work out where one of them is just by a body part. Starting with AKB, the same girls as before go into the cubicles, being led in around the back. They all reveal their right arms through the curtains, and the girls inspet each arm in turn. The arms then dance to a bit of music. The girls are looking for Maeda, and decide shes in booth 2. The curtain parts and it is, in fact, Maeda. For SKE the other 5 girls who hadn't already gone go round and into the booths, before revealing their right legs. This time the hint is to test the legs' reactions to tickling. Again the chosen hiding spot is booth 2, and their right.
In this weeks news, we're first given information about AKB48s 24th single Ue Kara Mariko, Not Yet's PeraPera Perao (love that song), and then treated to the music video for French Kisses latest single.
So running from left to right, front to back, we have:

Sim on AKB48 #1: AKBINGO 111109
Wait what? AKB what now? You ask. Well you might if you existed, but enough about that. AKB48 is a Japanese idol group consisting of (probably/definitely more than) 48 members. And I love them. I'll go more in depth later though, and hopefully this will improve my memory of the girls names.
AKBINGO is a variety program featuring their members hosted by comedy duo Bad Boys, and features various tasks and events. It's had 2 other names before hand but is still the same show. This episode aired only yesterday in japan.
The episode begins with a map of japan showing where 3 of the 4 groups (I don't think SDN48 has a specific base location), AKB48, SKE48 and NMB48 are located, and says thatthere is now the recently formed HKT48, the map then zooms out to show asia, pointing out JKT48 is coming soon to Indonesia, and that TPE48 is coming soon to Taiwan. We then get some text which is either asking where the expansion will end or something else. He then get pictures of some AKB members and other silhouetted pictures, the AKB members are the 10 AKB members who came top in the Senbatsu election earlier this year: Left to tight, front to back: Team B Kashiwagi Yuki, Team A Maeda Atsuko, Team K Oshima Yuko, Team A Takahashi Minami, Team B Watanabe Mayu, Team A Shinoda Mariko, Team A Kojima Haruna, Team A Sashihara Rino, Team K Miyazaki Sae and Team K Itano Tomomi.
We then get the opeining, featuring AKB's 3rd single: Aitakatta.
Now we have Sata, one of Bad Boys, announce the AKB48 vs SKE48 Kizuna Battle. To the sound of the 22nd single, Flying Get, we get: Miyazaki Miho, Maeda Ami, Oya Shizuka, Matsui Sakiko, Fujie Rena, Nito Moeno, Sato Sumire, Shimuda Haruka, Takeuchi Myu, Ichikawa Miori and the other half of Bad Boys, Kiyoto. And then to what might be SKE48's 7th single, Okey Dokey, we get from SKE: Matsui Rena, Oya Masana, Suda Akari, Kizaki Yuria, , Kuwabara Mizuki, , Hiramatsu Kanako, Kimoto Kanon and . They're also joined by some guy who I guess does some SKE show, I think he calls himself Chura.
Sata says something about the title sequence, before mentioning one of Rena's first appearances on the show, where she was hypnotised into her arm being forced into the air when she was asked some specific question until she said another phrase. She now uses the phrase of her own volition.
We get told what the first event is, when one of AKB starts trash talk (is this the event?) and Oya goes up against her. We then get this jump thing all of a sudden from Oya. The AKB girl then does a matrix move, and Suda comes, bends over backwards, and just walks with her hands on the ground. She then rolls over, by moving her feet over the back of her head. Another girl then talks about something she loves until Sata interrupts for the third time, and Kiyoto has one of AKB do it as well. Chura pulls out some scrapbook or something where the SKE girls have written complimeents about him (I think) and Sata starts reading some of them out. Chura then points out something about Yuria (martial arts?) and Sata has her demonstrate on Chura. Shimuda then demonstrates her ability to mime eating, and then run and hug something. Then another SKE girl gives some kind of defeated speech.
The next game involves 5 girls being sat in booths, and when it starts the curtains to each booth go down, and each girl has a rack of clothes in their booth, and have to change into clothes based on a list told to them by Sata. Each is supposed to become the same thing.
The SKE team go first, and Rena emerges as a secretary, the rest of the booths open, 2, 4 are also secretaries, 3 is a stewardess, and 5 is a policewoman, so they fail. After a bit of banter Rena points out that all 3 secretaries are in Team S, and the other to are both in Team KII.
The AKB team goes next, with waht I think is the same list. Miori emerges a nun, and when the rest open, the rest however emerge as nurses, so they fail and Shimuda jokingly shuns Miori, and Sata has a go at her.
The event will continue next time.
We then get the weekly news announcements, starting with details of the 24th single, Ue Kara Mariko, which has Shinoda Mariko at the centre following her victory in the Janken tournament, as well as announcement SKE48s Okey Dokey. We're also told of JKT48's member announcement, and treated to AKB sub-unit Not Ye'ts PV for their latest single, looks nice.
I apologise for the wrong names and missed out ones, I picked possibly the worst episode ever to start doing this, as I knew literally only one member of each group. If anyone an fill me in on missing information please leave a comment.
