24 days of singles day 24: Special releases

Here we go with my last post on here for a while.

The first release we look at is Baby! Baby! Baby!, a digital release apparently during the label change period between Sakura no Hanabiritachi 2008 and Oogoe Diamond.
Senbatsu
Team A: Itano Tomomi, Oshima Mai, Kawasaki Nozomi, Kojima Haruna, Sato Yukari, Shinoda Mariko, Yakahasi Minami, Nakanishi Rina, Maeda Atsuko, Minegishi Minami
Team K: Akimoto Sayaka, Umeda Ayaka, Oshima Yuko, Ohori Megumi, Ono Erena, Kasai Tomomi, Miyazawa Sae
Team B: Kashiwagi Yuki, Kikuchi Ayaka, Watanabe Mayu
The song itself mostly talks about being in love. The PV starts with some stuff involving Acchan and going to bed, before we get into the music, with the girls alternatively messing around in a holiday reserve and doing some stuffin 50's outfits. The Senbatsu sung B-side Yume wo Shinaseru Wake ni Ikenai, which is about losing ones path and wondering what to do. There is also the first inclusion of Shonichi on here, though whether it's the same as the other one I don't know.

The next release is sort of not an AKB release at all. Chuu Shiyouze is a collaboration between AKB48 and Fuji TV's Idoling!!!, so let's take a look.
AKBIdoling!!!
AKB48: Itano Tomomi, Oshima Mai, Oshima Yuko, Ono Erena, Kasai Tomomi, Kojima Haruna, Maeda Atsuko, Matsui Jurina
Idoling!!!: Endo Mai, Tonooca Erica, Yazawa Erika, Yokoyama Rurika, Sakai Hitomi, Asahi Nao, Kikuchi Ami, Miyake Hitomi. I don't have access to ttranslated lyrics, but I believe it's about love. The PV has the girls all being friendly with each other, there's a lot of hugging and heart-shaped balloons and kssing of cameras
The single features 2 B-sides. One is an AKB cover of Idoling!!!'s Moteki no Uta, the other is an Idoling!!! cover of AKB classic Aitakatta.

The final thing to talk about is Dareka no Tame ni - Waht can I do for someone? This was a special charity release of an existing song following the Tohoku earthquake. Given the nature of the release I honestly don't think it has a proper Senbatsu this time around. The song itself is a fairly motivational song supposed to encourage.

24 days of singles day 23: Kaza wa Fuiteiru and Kimi no Senaka

Before I starts, I'd like to announce that tomorrows update will be the last update to the blog for a while, as it's getting in the way of some things which are more important right now. Also I don't have access to the translations to any of the songs today.

Senbatsu
Team A: Kojima Haruna, Sashihara Rino, Shinoda Mariko, Takajo Aki, Takahashi Minami, Maeda Atsuko
Team K: Itano Tomomi, Oshima Yuko, Minegishi Minami, Miyazawa Sae, Yokoyama Yui
Team B: Kasai Tomomi, Kashiwagi Yuki, Kitahara Rie, Watanabe Mayu
Team S: Matsui Jurina, Matsui Rena
Team N: Yamamoto Sayaka
Right now let me tell you finding the complete PV is really difficult. The PV starts in a desert like area, when a door opens and the girls step out in their dance uniforms. The story version has them walking in a run down kind of area. The girls are stood around what to me looks like a large hut. Actually it looks like it as teeth. They seem afraid of it. Maeda and Yuko both put their ears to the thing. Oh yeah also the planet's on fire. The girls all start trying to destroy the thing. They manage to break the ropes tying it to the wooden poles. They then move some fur(?) to reveal what looks like eyes. They engage in some kind of prayer which either electrocutes them or sets them on fire. The thing glows before opening it's eyes and mouth. The thing breaths steam which apparently puts out the fire on the world. Then that door shuts.

The Common B-Side is Undergirls with Kimi no Senka
Undergirls
Team A: Iwasa Misaki, Oota Aika, Nakagawa Haruka, Maeda Ami
Team K: Kikuchi Ayaka, Fujie Reina
Team B: Ishida Haruka, Komori Mika, Sato Sumire, Miyazaki Miho
Team 4: Abe Mariya, Ichikawa Miori, Iriyama Anna, Shimazaki Haruka, Yamauchi Suzuran
Team Kenkyuusei: Kato Rena
Team KII: Takayanagi Akane
Team E: Kimoto Kanon
NMB Team Kenkyuusei: Jo Eriko
The first 3 minutes or so have the girls talking in various groups, they're all in the same school. The last minute has Love-tan and Sumire talking, before Sumire leaves by train. The Dance segments have them dancing in a different uniform to the one they wear in the story segments. The story segments during the MV show us the past, when the two were better friends, it seems Sumire has some interest with a member of the baseball team. In the present Sumire boards her train, and Lovetan pushes her bike sadly. We do get to see the other girls doing stuff as well. We see in the past as Lovetan happens to seethe baseball team the one Sumire likes sees her and she ducks out the way. When Sumire and Rabutan get stopped by the level crossing, Lovetan looks back and smiles at the guy, and Sumire sees this. In the present Sumire decideds to forgive her and waves at Lovetan as her train passes. As Sumire's train crosses the crossing two girls stopped by it turns around, causing one excitement.

The A-type B-side is Vamos
Undergirls Baragumi
Team A: Oya Shizuka, Nakata Chisato, Nakaya Sayaka, Matsubara Natsumi

Team B: Kobatashi Kana, Suzuki Shihori, Suzuki Mariya, Chikano Rina, Hirajima Natsumi
Team 4: Shimada Haruka, Takeuchi Miyu, Nakamata Shiori, Nagao Mariya
The PV involves the girls and others taking some kind of tour. They meet some people who are at least some what famous as far as I can tell. They come to an area where thers a stage, and told that the Undergirls group here will be performing, but theres little reaction. The group can be seen practicing backstage. The girls come on stage and manage to win the crowd.

The B-type B-side is Gondola Lift
Undergirls Yurigumi
Team A: Katayama Haruka, Kuramochi Asuka
Team K: Akimoto Sayaka, Umeda Ayaka, Nito Moeno, Matsui Sakiko
Team B: Sato Amina, Sato Natsuki, Masuda Yuka
Team 4: Nakamura Mariko
3 of the girls, wearing white, get into an elevator and look thorugh the windows at the people in the apartments. We also get shots of other girls in black, but we also have them all in white on a rooftop. Later one of the girls pours sand into the bottom of an hourglass. A couple others are seen lighting candles. The hourglass turns over. There's alot happening through these window though, and I honestly think it would be worth it to find the PV for yourself to watch.

The Theatre Edition B-Side is Tsubomitachi, a Team 4 and Team Kenkyuusei collaboration.
Team 4: Abe Maria, Ichikawa Miori, Iriyami Anna, Shimizaki Haruka, Shimada Haruka, Takeuchi Miyu, Nakamata Shiori, Nakamura Mariko, Nagao Mariya, Yamauchi Suzuran

Moshidora

Moshi Koko Yakyu no Joshi Manager ga Drucker no "Management" o Yondara is a bestselling novel by Iwasaki Natsumi, published in december 2009, and involves it's lead character Kawashima Minami managing a baseball team using tips from Peter Drucker's Management: Tasks, Responsibilities, Practices,

This thing has been a pretty big deal. A manga adaptation has been serialized since january 2011, a 10 episode anime ran between  25th April 2011 and 6th May 2011, and there's the movie adaptation, released in cinemas on June 4th. It's because of this movie Maeda Atsuko got her solo debut with Flower, and Everyday, Katyusha is part of the soundtrack.

The film stars Meada Atsuko as the lead character, and also stars Minegishi Minami, Seto Koji from D-BOYS, and several other's some of whom are no doubt quite notable. Every member of the baseball team, plus it's management gets some time to shine in this, and it's quite good. So below is my summary.

Watch it yourself, I couldn't do it justice if I did understand it perfectly.  Oh and thanks to Smilodon for posting this earlier on his blog.

24 days of singles day 22: Flying Get and Dakishimechaikenai

Because things'll be a little complicated with this Senbatsu single, I'm going to go backwards.

The Theatre Edition B-Side is Yasai Urenai. This song is in effect a continuation of the advertising campaign that was Yasai Sisters. However this time there isn't a new PV, though new costumes were made, even though anyone already involved had the same vegetable. There were new adverts of the girls driking the juice as well.
Team A: Oota Aika, Kuramochi Asuka, Kojima Haruna, Sashihara Rino, Shinoda Mariko, Takajo Aki, Takahashi Minami, Maeda Atsuko, Maeda Ami
Team K: Akimoto Sayaka, Itano Tomomi, Oshima Yuko, Nito Moeno, Miyazawa Sae, Minegishi Minami, Yokoyama Yui
Team B: Kasai Tomomi, Kashiwagi Yuki, Kitahara Rie, Komori Mika, Sato Sumire, Miyazaki Miho, Watanabe Mayu
Team S: Matsui Jurina, Matsui Rena
Team KII: Takayanagi Akane, Mukaida Manatsu
Team E: Kimoto Kanon
Team N: Yamamoto Sayaka, Watanabe Miyuki
The song talks about how everyone is like a vegetable, and working out which one you are.

The B-type B-side is Ice no Kuchizuke, created as part of an advertising campaign for Ice no Mi candy
Team A: Shinoda Mariko, Takahashi Minami, Maeda Atsuko
Team K: Itano Tomomi, Oshima Yuko
Team B: Watanabe Mayu
Team Kenkyuusei: Eguchi Aimi
The song is about love, but a major recurring element is whoever it is not singing having 'ice cream kisses'. We start with Yuko, Takamina, Mariko, Mayuyu and Tomochin together eating, we get a close up of a photo of all the girls in the single in the singles' costume. Aacchan arrives late, and Yuko asks about the handkerchief she's holding. In a falshback Acchan's recording a commercial or a scene, and takes a break to rest her head, an arm leaves the handkerchief next to her on the windowsill. This causes Yuko to remember her doing dance practice, we see someone leve her a towel, a piece of paper and some water while her back is turned, and it turns out to be Aacchan. Yuko takes a break and sees the paper. Mariko is learning some lines from the looks of things, While she's stood up Yuko leaves her a bundle on the bench, Mariko sees the bundle and picks a note out of it. Tomochin's listening to music on the roof when her phone goes off so she checks the mail. Mayuyu is asleep on a sofa in the costume, Tomochin comes in and leves her a cuddly lamb, Mayu awakes and sees the lamb. Mayu enters the dressing room and leaves a box in front of a mirror, afterwards Takamina and her stylist come in, and Takamina notices the box as she sits down. The girls all talk about this, and we see the handkerchief has 'Aimi' sewm into it, and Maeda actually turned around to see a blurred figure walking away. Yuko looks at the note, which Aacchan signed. Mariko's note has a drawing of the food Yuko's made her. Tomochin's mail is some words from Mariko. Mayuyu's lamb has a note from Tomo attached. Takamina's box has a note from Mayu and a new ribbon. Just then in the present a figure enters with a cake.

OK, so why is this Eguchi Aimi in this? Well she auditioned for NMB's 2nd generation, but Aki-P decided she was the perfect AKB girl, and made the 16 year old 12.5th generation. She then became the centre girl for the Ice no Mi campaign. And yet she only appears blurred in the PV. Well here's a secret so secret it was reported worldwide, at least on newspapers' websites. She's not real. Yes I know you bought the issue of whatever magazine it was she did a photo shoot for, but she's still a digital combination of the others in this single. But what about the live performance she made? that was 12th generation memeber Sasaki Yukari, who provided Aimi's voice.

The A-type B-side is Seishun to Kizukanai Mama. This is the 4th and my least favorite Majijo track.
Team A: Oota Aika/Lovetan, Kuramochi Asuka/Kokabuki, Kojima Haruna/Torigoya, Sashihara Rino/Wota, Shinoda Mariko/Sado, Takajo Aki/Akicha, Takahashi Minami/Keibuho, Meada Atsuko, Maeda Ami/Mayuge
Team K: Akimoto Sayaka/Chokoku, Itano Tomomi/Shibuya, Oshima Yuko, Kikuchi Ayaka/Comeback, Nito Moeno/Bungee, Minegishi Minami/Shaku, Miyazawa Sae/Gakuran, Yokoyama Yui/Otabe
Team B: Kasai Tomomi/Ookabuki, Kashiwagi Yuki/Black, Kitahara Rie/Unagi, Komori Mika/Mukuchi, Sato Sumire/Sanshoku, Miyazaki Miho/Myao, Watanabe Mayu/Nezumi
Team 4: Oba Mina/Toshima, Shimazaki Haruka/Kanburi, Shimada Haruka/Docchi, Nagao Mariya/Mariyagi, Yamauchi Suzuran/Tsuri, Ichikawa Miori/Lemon
Team S: Matsui Jurina/Centre, Matsui Rena/Gekikara
The song talks about not appreciating youth until it's gone and your stuck with barely anything. The PV starts with shots of Nezumi lying in the empty swimming pool, and of Centre on the roof of Majijo. We get some stuff of Maeda looking sad, but a lot is also just footage from the show. We do get Shibuya looking sad as well, and Dance sat outside the room wondering about her boss. Theres also some behind the scenes footage.

We now move to the Undergirls track, as appointed by votes, so from 40 to 22:
Undergirls: Fujie Reina (K), Ichikawa Miori (4), Matsui Sakiko (K), Maeda Ami (A), Suda Akari (S), Oba Mina (4), Sato Sumire (B), Hata Sawako (KII), Komori Mika (B), Nito Moeno (K), Oya Masana (S), Oya Shizuka (A), Yamamoto Sayaka (N), Miyazaki Miho (B), Hirajima Natsumi (B), Oota Aika (A), Nakagawa Haruka (A), Takayanagi Akane (KII), Umeda Ayaka (K)
The song so far as I can tell is about going your seperate ways and holding back your love due to this. The PV was apparently filmed in a single continuous shot. We start with Ume-chan walking on screen with and announcing the start. We start with her, Akane and Haruka singing together while Myao walks in front with a bike. A bit more focus on them before turning to Myao, Lovetan and Natsumi. We turn to 3 more includin Shizuka, then Moeno, Mika and Sawako. The next 3 are sat in a group, and the last 4 are all stood together. We then see the first 3 through a curtain, which opens to reveal all of them in cheerleader outfits for the dance. We then take a look at the groups from earlier again, before having another dance segent in different costumes. After everyone else runs off shot Ume-cahn takes a moment before runnign over to a board with the song details, and everyone pulls party poppers.

The Senbatsu song for this release is honestly my favorite song. Only the dance version is up on AKB48's channel, but then I love the danae, I've learnt the dance to the short version, and the lyrics as well.
From 21 to 1, Senbatsu: Kuramochi Asuka (A), Masuda Yuka (B), Yokoyama Yui (K), Sato Amina (B), Akimoto Sayaka (K), Kasai Tomomi (B), Minegishi Minami (K), Matsui Jurina (S), Kitahara Rie (B), Takajo Aki (A), Miyazawa Sae (K), Matsui Rena (S), Sashihara Rino (A), Itano Tomomi (K), Takahashi Minami (A), Kojima Haruna (A), Watanabe Mayu (B), Shinoda Mariko (A), Kashiwagi Yuki (B), Oshima Yuko (K), Maeda Atsuko (A).
The song is about getting a 'Flying Get' of somebodies love. (Flying Get means to purchase something, like a CD, before the official release date, though legally.) The PV is a full 18 minutes, so I'll have to talk about that after the jump.

The PV starts with us watching a shadowy figure practicing with the sword, while also showing us a large room, we look towards the corner that, if looking towards the portrait on one wall, is on the left. We see that those there are eating, amongst them is Yuko, Yukirin, Mariko, Mayuyu and Kojipa. The shadowy figure stops and we see a tattoo '001' on their arm, which glows briefly. We then look exclusively at the girls as they talk, includig saying something about Marie Antoinette's famous quote, and these girls have some fairly lavish foods. The talk a bit more, before Yuko says something, which the others all question. She explains, but then goes on eating, after a moment the others do too.

We then go to a darkly lit area, where some old men are being forced to work by younger men in masks, who have a collection of weapons. They clearly don't treat the elder men well, and the younger men do some pretty intense training. We get to see the leader, and it seems all the masked men are part of a group with Ox tattos on them which glow. As the leader gives some motivational talk a voice comes from the darkness. It belongs to a mysterious figure.

We now move to the 5 girls to the right of the portrait. Takamina, Tomochin, Sasshi, Rena and Sae. They talk about the jewellery there, and after Sae and Tomochin say something cryptic Takamina demonstrates her tiaras ability to glow. They keep talking more about the whats going on, and Takamina's eye glows before they look at the girls the other side of the painting. After a bit more they raise their jewellery up.

The shadowy figure reveals that he can help them find the girls, first revealing they're in Tokyo, specifically Akihabara, before hitting the head of the weird Ox statue thing they have there.

At the other end of the room, on the same side as the first 5 girls, we look at the girls there. Rather than sitting like the other 2 groups we've seen, these girls kneel at the table, and have plainer looking food. Here we have Akicha, Jurina, Chiyuu~, Miichan and Kitarie. They also discuss the goings on. Jurina makes some comment about the girls at the top of the room. After a bit more discussion Jurina says a little more cryptic stuff. After Miichan says something to make herself sparkle the girls all dive in to the food.

The evil masked gang runs down the road.

We're in the last corner now, and the girls here don't even have a table to eat from, instead it's on the floor next to them. Kneeking here are: Sayaka, Amina, Yui, Mochi and Yuka. They talk together as well.

Boom!!! The evil guys burst into the room, as the girls who've been stood silinetly in each corner now move, and immediately head to the rooms centre. Interstingly these 4 girls also have masks and altered voices. They're made a quick job of though. Yuko has them go again, but they're easily defeated. The masked guys point to each corner of the room, and the girls rise. Yuko gives some threat. And now the music starts.

The dance version has them in these nice gold outfits, but thats not what we're here for. We start the story sections of the whole MV with the girls in red battle outfits posing, notably though Yuko's is purple. After everyone's eyes glow Yuko leads them into battle. We get some focus on each of them, with their number showing on screen as well. However the bottom 5 are soon out, followed by the next 5 despite their using spears. 7-11 go in with the metal things I should probably know the names of. They too are defeated. 6 through 2 finally go in with swords. Eventually only Yuko is left, but even with her sword sparkling she loses. She then notices the girls are taking down the portrait.

The girl from the beginning comes out, wearing a white battle outfit, it's Maeda. Yuko manages to break free. Maeda tears through the mooks, apparently killing them as the girls cheer. She demands of the leader how they found them, and he looks toward the mysterious figure. She removes her disguise, and... It's Yuko.

The two fight, even flying through the air, but it ends with Aacchan's sword to Yuko's throat.

Acchan lowers her sword and Yuko smudges out her tattoo and walks toward the exit, before Maeda drops her sword. She runs in front of Yuko, and offers her hand. Even Yuko's asking why. Maeda gives some explantion, Yuko starts crying and Maeda hugs her. Yuko apologises and Maeda forgives her, and the other girls all run in to join the hug. Apparently even the 4 useless guards and the bad guys are brought to tears.

Theres also the Minegishi Minami version of Flying Get, which, well:

AKBINGO 111221

The event this week is the AKB48 Fashion Collection Christmas SP. Sata's quick to question why Takamina's wearing her Banana Parka, which she protests is fashionable, it should be noted that the judge agreed with her the first time we saw it.

Speaking of the judge, he runs a fashion magazine as I understand, and they bring him in twice a year for these fashion shows. He rates the clothes as either 'Fashionable' (pink), 'Sort of Fashionable' (green), 'Sort of Unfashionable' (purple) and Unfashionable (brown)

The first event is to show what you would wear to impress your sempai at christmas dinner (as far as I can tell).

First up is Mariko-sama, who we're reminded last to entries were both rated as Fashionable. She comes in wearing a brown open jacket with a brown sweater underneath and a white shirt under that. Her skirt is a light brown with 4 layers of white fur at intervals up the skirt. She wears pink leggings with a heart on them, as well as high-leg boots with high heels on them, and finishes off with her 'Ue Kara Mariko Pose'. Personally I quite like it. When they discuss the clothes though Mariko reveals the shirts just a collar stuffed under the jumper. Amin apparently loves it, whilst Sasshi makes some witty comment. The judge rates it as Fashionable, proving Mariko to be the AKB Fashion Queen. He also points out how the colours work, as well as the skirt.

Next up is Kojiharunyannyan (if only I could fit 'Kojipa' in somehow), who's noted as having shown relative fashion competence in the past, with 2 'Fashionables' and 2 'Sort of Fashionables'. She has a white furry jacket, with a lace shirt underneath with a black skirt, tights, and black high heels with white toes and heels. She also has a cute, black riggon in her hair as well as heart earrings. She also has a handbag. She looks quite nice if you ask me (but don't do that, my fashion sense is appalling, plus thats what the guy judgings for). The judge rates it a Fashionable, and says the legs and the hadnbag work well. Akimoto raises some complaint I'm sure is related to one of these she did in the past, but the judge goes on to compliment her hair decs.

Next up is Tomo~mi, who it seems hasn't done this before (this kind of surprises me for some reason). She has a peach(?) coat, with a lace frilly top underneath, and a pink skirt. I like it. However apparently it's sort-of unfashionable, to a fair few surprised faces. Apprently the skirt and coat clash, which I can see now, as well as some issue with her legs.

We then get his chosen best of the 3, he selects Haruna. He then also says it's Mariko. Chiyuu~ complains, so he hands her the board with her category on it, but she still looks grumpy.

The second theme is somehing to do with a christmas date. We also get a reminder that several girls have gotten the worst ratings before, but told one will today get the Fashionable rating.

Up first is Miichan, who has consistently gotten Unfashionables in 3 previous attempts. Not really sure whats wrong with the second 2 though. Minegishi is wearing a black dress under a scarf, which has a hood on it. She also has a green patchwork bag, as well as knee-high blue socks and orange high heels. I can see problems with this, I won't lie. After demonstrating that she looks quite good without the scarf, she gets down on her knees to beg for an improved ranking. The judge has her put the bag down and take off the high heels. She looks much improved like that. However the judhe gives her an unfshionable, presumably on the original outfit. This causes her to fall to the ground. She then decides she's putting the high heels back on, as Takamina and Sashi tell her not to. However it's still Unfashionable (she looks gourgeous without anything she removed though). She puts on the scarf, but the judge explains the black clashes with the snow (I guess).

Up next is Yokoyama Yui (yay!!). I know she appeared before but I don't know the ranking. Yui walks on and OHMYGODSHESBEAUTIFUL. Oh wait thats all the time, never mind. She has a white jumper, a checked mini-skirt, long boots with heels and a red bag. I like it, but I can see things he'll likely pick on. She's rated as Sort of Unfashionable, which is either an improvement or the same but SHELOOKSWONDERFULDAMNIT. He has her try on Kojima's jacket, which makes her look better.

Up last is Sae. She's also appeared thrice beforehand with ratings of Unfashionable. Okaaaaaaayyyyyy then. Brown hooded jacket over red jumper with a face over white shirt which is also coming underneath the jumper. She's wearing Mickey ears fixed with the wizard hat from Fantasia. I don't know how to describe the pants. Theres apparently something noteworthy about her ring. She also has leopard print shoes. I don't see this doing well. It's rated Unfashionable. I'm guessing the thing earlier was asking if any of them will get a Fashionable rating earlier, not that they will.

AKB News next (damn cliffhangers). The first announcement is more news about Team A's Iwasa Misaki's upcoming solo debut, which will have an enka theme. We're also shown a sample of the PV for no3b's new single, Pedicure Day. The main song this week is SDN48's 4th and possible last single; Kudoki nagara Azabu Juuban duet with Mino Monta.

We then get the choice for best fashion out of the three of them. Sae attempts to win by jumping in front of him, but he chooses Yui (YAAY!!!). He then decides to name Sae's fashion as the worst. Next weeks more fashion.

24 days of singles day 21: Everyday, Katyusha and Korekara Wonderland

Everyone see the Sakura no Ki ni Narou post? Cause apparently I haven't typed 20 in the title bar yet. Anyway, todays single is far better to me for a few reasons.

Senbatsu
Team A: Oota Aika, Kuramochi Asuka, Kojima Haruna, Sashihara Rino, Shinoda Mariko, Takajo Aki, Takahshi Minami, Maeda Atsuko
Team K: Itano Tomomi, Oshima Yuko, Kikuchi Ayaka, Minegishi Minami, Miyazawa Sae, Yokoyama Yui
Team B: Kasai Tomomi, Kashiwagi Yuki, Kitahara Rie, Komori Mika, Sato Sumire, Masuda Yuka, Miyazaki Miho, Watanabe Mayu
Team S: Matsui Jurina, Matsui Rena
Team N: Yamamoto Sayaka, Watanabe Miyuki
This is the first AKB single to feature NMB members, and the Theatre Edition cover features all 3 groups' centres. The song is about being in love with someone for a long time, and realizing how much they've grown up in that time. The MV starts pre-music with a minute of Maeda cycling, before moving into the song. After a bit more cycling all the girls are in a juice bar, as some of them construct a model ship, and they all salute. We then enter the dance version, with them all in bikinis. We see Maeda walking away from Yuko, who's shouting at her as Takamina restrains her, before they start fighting, Mariko, seemingly in authority comes over with some others, as Mayu, Yukirin and Lovetan watch from under the caps they're wearing. Yuko, Tomochin and Kojipa wash a car together, Mariko sends everyone on a cycle ride. The girls are all sketching a small satue in an art class. Acchan, Takamina, Tomochin, Yuko and Harunyan all jump and land in graduation wear. Mariko removes her Sifuku to reveal a bikini underneath. Acchan looks at her phone while sitting alone, and remembers getting in a big fight with Sae. We then get the girls all practicing a dance routine, but Maeda watches outside. The girls lead a blindfolded Maeda through the corridor. Mariko puts on her sunglasses. Yukirin, Mochi and Mika buy ice creams and wathc the girls cycle past. A few other girls eat pizza together. Tomchin in bikini turns to look at us. The girls lead blindfolded Maeda into a sports hall. The girls cycling all stop together at the finish line, before Mariko races over, before Sasshi does the same. As the girls play basketball, Maeda joins Sayanee and Jurina who're watching. The camera pans over the girls in bikinis on sunloungers, before Yuko winks and goes 'shh' through the keyhole. As the corner says 'LBS48' the girls are all together on a bus, we get a few girls and Mariko messing around in front of a picture, then getting Maeda looking at it. Maeda spreads her arms, having left her bike and just started running, Yuko wathes Sae walk away before she dissappears, the world just sort of drifts past Acchan. On the bus Acchan sleeps on Takamina's shoulder, but wakes up to find Takamina's left and is stood wathing the bus leave, but Acchan has a letter. Mariko, Yuko, Takamina and Tomochin watch the others leave on a boat, and they all salute each other. Acchan, still running, just manages to arrive at the scene. I count refererences to Iiwake Maybe, Sakura no Shiori, Sakura no Hanabiritachi 2008, Namida Surprise, 10nen Zakura, Oogoe Diamond, Heavy Rotation, Ponytail to Shushu and Keibetsu Shiteita Aijou.

The B-side here doesn't have a specific unit, so but it's members are as follows
Team A: Kojima Haruna, Sashihara Rino, Shinoda Mariko, Takajo Aki, Takahashi Minami, Maeda Atsuko
Team K: Itano Tomomi, Oshima Yuko, Minegishi Minami, Miyazawa Sae, Yokoyama Yui
Team B: Kasai Tomomi, Kashiwagi Yuki, Kitahara Rie, Watanabe Mayu
The song is about, well, going to Wonderland. The MV starts with the girls backstage getting for a show I think is meant to be in a gentlemans club. The girls are performing in a variety of vaguely Alice based cstumes. We also see more backstage stuff. After a second performance their now in black and white. The credits has some guy in weird get up applauding

The A-type B-side is my favorite Majijo track, Yankee Soul.

Team S: Matsui Jurina/Centre, Matsui Rena/Gekikara
So yeah, this song features just about everyone. Seriously of the first seasons AKB cast, 2 are missing because they graduated, and 5 more for some reason. They're in the MV though. The song talks about how it's silly to keep getting in all these fight, theres no logi to it. The MV has the dance segment set outside of the school in a drained swimming pool, and Daruma and Team Under are there. The opening segments hint at a confrontation between 4 parties, standing here at different corners of the Majijo flag. Also I love this songs dance. The MV gives us a little non dance focus on Maeda as well asn Centre and Nezumi to begin with. As we get into the first verse We get Team Fondue and Team Hormone walking in different directions down a corridor, Team Fondue get out of the way, watching as they pass. Team Under stand in Hormone's way, but Kabuki Sisters appear out of no where and push them aside. They also send some girls flying down the corridor. Gakuran and Shaku appear and take the lead, walking past Otabe as they do. Nezumi and Centre look at each other on the roof. The moving Rappappa come to Gekikara, who turns to face Nezumi and Centre as they turn a corner (confrontation imminent). We see Maeda on the roof, she spreads her arms and cherry blossoms fall. Yuko turns around while standing in front of her chair and does her hair thing, we get a shot of Habu doing their pose, and of Team Fondue, before Yuko mocks everones Yankee Soul. Otabe, looking at Rappappa turns to see Maeda standing there. The Habu part to reveal Shibuya "Yankee Soul, Yorushku", and our last shot is a silhoutted hand amongst the falling Sakura.

The B-type B-side is another Undegirls song, Hito no Chikara.
Undergirls
Team A: Iwasa Misaki, Oya Shizuka, Katayama Haruka, Nakagawa Haruka, Nakata Chisato, Nakaya Sayaka, Matsubara Natsumi

Team Kenkyuusei: Takeuchi Miyu, Nakamura Mariko, Mori Anna, Nakamata Shiori,
Team S: Yagami Kumi

Team N: Yamada Nana
The song is about having to push a car to a garage after a break down, and wondering about the road to the future. The PV has the girls working to construct a float, including some irresponsible welding, and they all pull it out together.

The Theatre Edition, as expected by now, has it's own B-side by Team Kenkyuusei; Anti.

24 days of singles day 20: Sakura no Ki ni Narou and Guuzen no Juujiro

Let me tell you, I was excited for today. Then I realised I'd left a song out, so I'm less excited. Also, let me reveal that I was going to have a special installemtn of this for christmas, but this taking too much time as it is, so things'll work out different to you might expect.

I personally like this song even less than Sakura no Shiori, which at least had the advantage of having a Majijo track attached.
Senbatsu
Team A: Kojima Haruna, Sashihara Rino, Shinoda Mariko, Takajo Aki, Takahashi Minami, Maeda Atsuko
Team K: Itano Tomomi, Oshima Yuko, Minegishi Minami, Miyazawa Sae
Team B: Kasai Tomomi, Kashiwagi Yuki, Kitahara Rie, Watanabe Mayu
Team S: Matsui Rena, Matsui Jurina
The song is basically encouraging you to even if you mustn't stay fixed on your days at school after graduating, you should at least remember them and you'll have someone there to remember. The PV starts with Yuko, Acchan, Kojipa, Tomochin and Takamina on a bus, one of them notices something and all of the save Acchan join her in looking, as they talk Accahn sits quietly, before looking at Jurina looking out the window wearing this singles uniform, she turns and says something to her, and as Maeda looks at her cherry petals fall before the song begins. The 5 girls lay flowers at a grave, before leaving and older couple, the women seems to be putting a brave face on things. At a school which has the uniform as it's own they talk with a teacher while looking at an old photo album. As they leave the building they stop to look over near a tree, where a group of students are talking, when one, Jurina, looks in their direction. We see Maeda and Jurina lying on the grass as petals fall (both in uniform) and theres some shipping material in there. We have the whole senbatsu sat together for a photo in uniform, but theres a chair empty. We see Kojiharu taking a test, and see Jurina next to her looking at her paper; Takamina's eating but clears the chair next to her, Jurina steals a seat so the guy who was going to sit there sits next to Takamina (Love is in the air); Tomochin does waitering stuff, looks out the window as a familiar arm reaches for her shoulder before someone else taps her, seems she's alright; Yuko plays with a young girl I guess is her sister, Jurina watches happily; ss Atsuko stands on the building she works at's roof Jurina is seen, looking down at her by the looks of things, and takes a single petal from her pocket and holds it in the air, Maeda throws someone their shuttlecock before walking off sadly. Jurina, looking sad but smiling turns, when she feels the others' hands on her back, she turns towards them but the psh her forward. We see the photo seating, though this time the seats taken, and our last shot is the 5 girls walking together.

The main B-side is another Undergilrs single, after they lost out of one with Chance no Junban.
Undergirls
Team A: Nakagawa Haruka, Oota Aika, Maeda Ami
Team K: Uchida Mayumi, Kikuchi Ayaka, Nito Moeno, Fujie Reina, Yokoyama Yui
Team B: Isida Haruka, Oku Manami, Komori Mika, Sato Sumire, Miyazaki Miho
Team S: Yagami Kumi, Oya Masana,
Team KII: Takayanagi Akane, Mukaida Manatsu
Team E: Kimoto Kanon
The song talks about being secretly in love with someone, and while you don't mind them not noticing, you still want to be able to meet them occasionally. Some boys cycling stop to see a boat stop and the girls come off with their own bikes, I'm guessing the boys are meant to be struck by their beauty. We see the boys following them throughout the school, except the one who's eating. We see the boys cycle round a corner but the one eating drops his towel, Lovetan and another girls come past and see it, calling him back to return it, he smiles, sorta. The girls all eat together before cycling away, the boys arrive and get someting to eat, but glasses doesn't feel like eating. The boys resume following the girls, waiting outside their school one day, and failing epicly at sneaking into an adult entertainment club by the looks of that poster. They lie on the grass, one imagining Yui (wheres my shotgun?), another a girl I don't recognise, and specs imagine Lovetan. The girls share lollipops, so do the guys. The guys are stood in a field and the objects of their desires happen to cycle past. The girls leave on the boat and give the boys a wave, and for some reason the guy who forced them out of whatever it was earlier is seen putting up another poster for the place.

The A-type B-side is a new song from MINT, Kiss Made no 100 Mile
MINT
Team A: Katayama Haruka, Maeda Atsuko
Team K: Nito Moena, Matsui Sakiko
Team B: Kasai Tomomi
The song talks about driving 100 miles on your day off to see your lover, and well, kiss them. The PV starts with Meada emerging from behind a flower pot, and a twitter stream of people talking about MINT. I think the girls are meant to be at a costume party. They dance, talk about things, dance in weird powder stuff, and thats it really.

The B-type B-side is also a single unit song, this one from DIVA, Area K
DIVA
Team A: Iwasa Misaki, Oya Shizuka, Kuramochi Asuka, Nakata Chisato, Nakaya Sayaka, Matsubara Natsumi
Team K: Akimoto Sayaka, Umeda Ayaka, Tanabe Miku, Nakatsuka Tomomi, Nonaka Misato, Yonezawa Rumi
Team B: Kobayashi Kana, Sato Amina, Suzuki Mariyam Chikano Rina, Hirajima Natsumi, Masuda Yuka
The song is about sneaking into an area in order to have an all night rave, and having some kind of dance battle. The MV starts with a few of DIVA walking to a guy, and entering Area K after Sayaka shows her DIVA tattoo. The girls enter as the music starts, and start the dance battle, I'm guessing they won in the end.

The Theatre Edition also has an exclusive B-side by Team Kenkyuusei, Ougon Centre, only this time I have access to the lyrics, and I can state the members involved with greater certainty.
Team Kenkyuusei
Oba Mina, Shimazaki Haruka, Shimada Haruka, Takeuchi Miyu, Nagao Mariya, Nakamura Mariko, Mori Anna, Yamauchi Suzuran, Abe Maria, Izuta Rina, Ichikawa Miori, Iriyama Anna, Kato Rena, Kanazawa Yuuki, Kobayashi Marina, Nakamata Shiori, Fujita Anna, Ushikubo Sara, Kawaei Rina, Kazuma Natsuki, Suzuki Shihori, Natori Wakana, Morikawa Ayaka, Yamaguchi Nau
The song is basically about working toward being the centre, and while being in the back is at the moment a rare sight, you'll work hard to reach the centre.

24 days of singles day 19: Chance no Junban and Yoyaku Shita Christmas

This single expanded on the previous few singles by having 3 versions. This also the first of the Janken Senbatsu singles, with it's members decided by a janken tournament. This led to probably the most changed senbatsu in AKB history, even Ue Kara Mariko had less changes to the normal Senbatsu than this, though nowadays I recognise 7 of the 16, excluding the centre, who I only know from this, rather than the initial 3. Not that this is a bad thing, as while the Senbatsu election is a good thing, as it lets the fans choose who they want, but it doesn't change the fact that there will still be members who go all the way through and graduate without ever making Senbatsu, and this can help change this, and perhaps even lead to the fans choosing them again.

The 16 strong Senbatsu (Senbatsu regulars in bold), from 16 to 1: Chikano Rina (B), Maeda Atsuko (A), Matsui Sakiko (K), Kasai Tomomi (B), Tanabe Miku (K), Kobayashi Kana (11), Kuramochi Asuka (A), Nakatsuka Tomomi (K), Takajo Aki (A), Sato Natsuki (B), Sato Sumire (B), Maeda Ami (A), Nakagawa Haruka (4), Kojima Haruna (A), Ishida Haruka (B), Uchida Mayumi (K).
The song talks about taking your chance when it comes, even if you fail before you have to take it again, which makes sense, it's about the fact that really any of the entire group could have made this Senbatsu. The PV starts with footage of Mayumi's Janken victory, before we move into the white uniforms in white room dance segments. The 'story' here is really just footage of the Janken tournament, Acchan beating Mayu, Sasshi beating Yuko, Miichan hugging whoever beat her, Amin's loss to Mayumi, and a few other things. Towards the end we get Mayumi on a horse, just because.

Unlike the Election singles the B-side here is not decided by the tornament, and was instead christmas themed track with the staffs choice of members.
Team A: Kojima Haruna, Sashihara Rino, Shinoda Mariko, Takahashi Minami, Takajo Aki, Maeda Atsuko, Maeda Ami
Team K: Itano Tomomi, Oshima Yuko, Minegishi Minami, Miyazawa Sae
Team B: Kasai Tomomi, Kashiwagi Yuki, Kitahara Rie, Komori Mika, Watanabe Mayu
The song talks about an agreement to meet on christmas and be together, but wondering if they'll come. The PV starts with all of the girls in Santa outfits on chimneys, Yuko, Acchan and Takamina go down one, and decorate the house festively, we also see pther groups doing this. Oh and there's magic involved. They also drink and eat, and eventually we get some of them holding typical christmas decorations, and a bit of a dance segement.

The Regular Edition came in 3 different versions, A, K and B, each featuring a song by that team.

Team A (Iwasa Masaki, Oota Aika, Oya Shizuka, Katayama Haruka, Kuramochi Asuka, Kojima Haruna, Sashihara Rino, Shinoda Mariko, Takajo Aki, Takahashi Minami, Nakagawa Haruka, Nakata Chisato, Nakaya Sayaka, Maeda Atsuko, Maeada Ami, Matsubara Natsumi) sing Kurumi to Dialogue, a song about having the walnut of your heart cracked by your love for someone (I'm taking the walnut to be a synonym for being cold hearted). The PV starts with the girls reading books, when Maeda apparently sees hersekf holding a heart of glass. Hineslty i haven't got a clue with the pre-music jump-cuts. The music starts and we keep getting jump-cuts between the girls dancing in school uniform, them stood holding the books, and dancing in different uniform. We get contrast between the versions in the white and in the black areas (Takamina, a common girl/a cute girl), the common version throws away the book, she wants to be cute, her doppelganger says 'come on'. Akicha and Kojiharu next (studying and reading, they're opposites are doing it but in a different way (Kojiharu reads a magazine, I think Akicha's listening to music), Akich takes off her glasses and motion Kojipa to come on, they join they're mirrors. Next is Mariko-sama, with Reading/Diamond, though it turns out thats just what Bizarro-Mariko wants, so does she, so she comes. We then get all the Bizarros motioning Acchan to 'come on' when they part for their Maeda, who holds the glass heart saying 'you'll need love?'. She says she does, but.... She has to go. Her Bizarro drops the heart and it shatters. After the music Maeda turns around holding a smaller heart, saying she doesn't know which one.

Team K (Akimoto Sayaka, Itano Tomomi, Uchida Mayumi, Umeda Ayaka, Oshima Yuko, Kikuchi Ayaka, Tanabe Miku, Nito Moeno, Nakatsuka Tomomi, Nonako Misato, Fujie Reina, Matsui Sakiko, Minegishi Minami, Miyazawa Sae, Yokoyama Yui, Yonezawa Rumi) sing ALIVE, which mostly questions if you're alive and pushes you to keep on living. The PV starts with the girls being transported, and then moves to them dancing in prison, with appropriately themed uniforms. I'm guessing theres a jailbreak, and we also get to see a fight broke out on the bus. We get to see Yui looking terrified as she's brought to the cells, I think Moeno gave her the finger. Yuko appears to be pretty wild, and Miichan resourcefully sneaks the keys off one of the guards belts. During the jailbreak Yui trips, by Sayaka come back and helps her up. I'm not sure why but we also get some explosions.

Team B (Ishida Haruka, Kasai Tomomi, Kashiwagi Yuki, Kitahara Rie, Kobayashi Kana, Komori Mika, Sato Amina, Sato Sumire, Sato Natsuki, Suzuki Mariya, Chikano Rina, Hirajima Natsumi, Masuda Yuka, Miyazaki Miho, Watanabe Mayu) sing Love Jump, which is about the weather being against you on a first date, and making the most of it in a way. The PV starts with Yukirin and Mayu stood outside a school holding something, Yuki looks quite serious but Mayuyu looks like she's in her own little dream world. The dance version has them in uniforms. The story includes Mayu stealing Yuki's food while Yuki addresses some problem of Kitarie. We then quie a few shots of a few of the girls singing in the room with them, before finally getting some proper advancement. Yukirin exits the school with an umbrella, Mayu comes after her and just starts dancing around in the snow. Yuki's kind of bothered by this, in the background you can see Kitarie having a similar reaction to Mayu, and after bit of thought Yukirin joins them. We then get the entire team running to school, some have umbrellas, Yuki and Mayu notably sharing theirs. I'm guessing by this next scene it's a nursing school, we see at the graduation Yukirin happily watching as Mayu's given her nurse hat, we then go to the beginning scene where Yukirin waves her hand over Mayu, still staring up at the sky. We then get all of the girls throwing their hats in the air.

The theatre edition featured it's own unique song by Team Kenkyuusei (Oba Mina, Shimuzaki Haruka, Shimada Haruka, Takeuchi Miyu, Nagao Mariya, Nakamura Mariko, Mori Anna, Yamauchi Suzuran, Ichikawa Miori, Nakamata Shiori, Abe Maria, Iriyama Anna, Izuta Rina, Kato Rena, Kobayashi Marina, Fujita Nana), Fruits Snow,  though I can't find any translated lyrics for it, and being on the Theatre Version it doesn't have a PV.

Yonpara FUTURE Game Battle 111218

This pretty blatantly follows last episode, which makes sense, they probably can't find the time weekly to record this, so they do two at once.

As the MC announces some new round 3 of them celbrate while Yuko is too busy adjusting her hair in the mirror. After Kitarie makes some nose related joke she gets up and moves back for reasons I'm not terribly clear on, she then comes back. After a while she pulls an odd face. A bit later the MC says something causing 3 of them to pose and Kitarie to go offline. Yuko's brought some food, and she brings the girl (looks quite young, yet she's 25) up to the camera, and then lets her listen in. However I'm now just going to tell you that Yui's waving to the camera to show what she's eating. The MC notices eventually and brings it up, Yui then starts eating and the girl leaves. Yuko's food is some cute sushi (look at it, just look).

Sasshi does some mirror adjustments, and makes her eye look huge. The quiz we've finally gotten to is about the girl, Chizo. Yui and Sasshi both offer answers, Yui's is wrong, but Yuko lets her answer again to Sasshi's annoyance, but the second answer is also wrong. After a hint is offered all 3 of them are all excitedly trying to give an answer, though I think the MC's doing it in jest. Chizo lets Sasshi have a go but it's close, another hint returns to the excited offerings, Yui gets to give the right answer. After a bit more talk Chizo goes to carry on working.

They call Kitarie back in, She tries to call over a cat but it ignores her. A woman hands her another though, but she doesn't seem to happy with this one. She's handed another one which runs away, causing Yuko to laugh as she's eating. She's given another she declares as the ultimate, which stays put and momentarily looks at the camera, and Yui describes it as cute, therefore making it the 2nd cutest thing in existence. The cat gets bored and runs off.

The next event get's called, and the MC has the others get as far away from the cameras as possible. It seems to be a variation of 'what's the time mr. wolf?'. When he first turns to look at them Kitarie doesn't seem to notice for a bit. They then have to do some action while he looks at them. The next attempt get everyone significantly closer, and whatever it is they're doing I'm guessing Sasshi's is funniest. While he's having them individually do things a cat attacks Kitarie's laptop, buy Yui gets the biggest laughs. The next round has Yui furthest from her screen, and Sasshi takes a while to make the obligatory pose. The next one has them all nearly at the seats when they have to imitate Michael Jackson (why can't we get their music over here, seriously?). Yui's briefly declared out until he realises she's doing Thriller. The next thing has Yui and Kitarie already sat down, while Yuko actually get's further away to do her thing, but gets made out. The next on gets Yui out.

We get another playing of Pera Pera Perao (I kind of hope they one week have to perform it themselves live over skype. Next weeks gonna be a christmas based according to the preview, but given they filmed this on like the 10th the girls may feel a little silly in those clothes.

24 days of singles day 18: Beginner and Boku Dake no Value

Just a warning, if disturbed by violent images don't read the summary of Beginner.

Senbatsu
Team A: Kojima Haruna, Sashihara Rino, Shinoda Mariko, Takajo Aki, Takahashi Minami, Maeda Atsuko
Team K: Itano Tomomi, Oshima Yuko, Minegishi Minami, Miyazawa Sae
Team B: Kasai Tomomi, Kashiwagi Yuki, Kitahara Rie, Watanabe Mayu
Team S: Matsui Jurina, Matsui Rena
The song talks about getting rid of the baggage of experience, and following your own path, getting rid of the controlling chains, questioning if they're really living, or even want to live, but says in the end to start again as a beginner. The PV is just the girls dancing, and I quite like the style they went with here for the uniforms, and this is mixed quite poorly in places with behind the scenes footage. Thats it.

OK I'm lying. That is the official PV, but the original PV can be found on Tudou at least, it was changed due to controversy about it's nature. So let's watch this (at time of typing I can pretty much guarantee this will be up too late my time. I'll make it up to you tomorrow). The girls are playing some kind of virtual reality immersion game. We first see Mariko knock a sphere, which knocks her over before becoming a cube and crushing her head. Mayu shoots a few spheres surrounding her, but the rest then extend into spikes and stab through her. Kojiharu is crushed into a wall by a giant lollipop, which becomes a cleaver and cuts off her head at the mouth. Yuko shoots a small pyramid while agaisnt a wall, which stabs through her. Acchan goes to pick something up, only for her to be pinned to a wall by a clamp from the pyramid pinning Yuko. Her hand is the stabbed by another spike, and the Acchan playing the game reacts to this, and blood drops onto the dropped game controller. Yuko looks at Acchan and shoots the claw away, smiling slightly before her spike becomes a block and crushes her. Reacting from her pain, Acchan stand sup, pulling out of the reality plugins, and then screams in pain for like 20 seconds, the virtual Acchan does so as well, before pulling her hand off, and replacing it with a giant spike. She attacks blocks, causing it to defeat itself as in the real world some of the girls stand up. Jurina appears with her own arm spike, and helps destroy the block as the girls standing up drop their controllers and pull of the virtual immersion features. Yuko, still under the effects starts walking, but Acchan stops her an hugs her, as Acchan's controller declares game over, and Yuko's unplugged.

Undergirls
Team A: Iwasa Misaki, Oota Aika, Katayama Haruka, Nakagawa Haruka, Maeda Ami,
Team K: Kikuchi Ayaka, Nakatsuka Tomomi, Nito Moeno, Fujie Reina, Matsui Sakiko, Yonezawa Rumi
Team B: Ishida Haruka, Oku Manami, Komori Mika, Sato Sumire, Hirajima Natsumi, Miyazaki Miho
Team S: Kizaki Yuria, Yagami Kumi
Team KII: Ishida Anna, Takayanagi Akane, Mukaida Manatsu
The song talks about being in love, but here it's not with a beautiful young girl, it's a fairly average girl, your not close but it's still her you'd choose over the more popular girls. The PV tarts with most of the girls, before the music, bitching about a few (5) of the girls fashion sense, when those girls overhear it but carry on walking. As revenge they later say the same thing about one of them whilst right next to them, a couple other see this. Later all of them are in a large race. The music starts here, and the dance section has them in these white outfits on a rooftop. The story is mostly the racing, they stop for water at one point and a teacher finds Moeno's avoided racing. At the water stop one girl deliberately trips another, this causing a bit of a fight. As some of the girls begin to finish still others are struggling, and apparently it starts raining mini gobstoppers, which i think cause two of the girls to make up.

The A-type B-side is Kimi ni Tsuite, sung by MINT which was formed as part of a deal with what I think is a MMORPG similar to Habbo (not that I've played it), the campaign will have to be looked at at some point.
MINT
Team A: Katayma Haruka, Maeada Atsuko
Team K: Nito Moeno, Matsui Sakiko
Team B: Kasai Tomomi
The song is about a one-sided attraction between the singer and a girl, and how he knows so much about her, and wants to know so much more. In the PV we start pre-music with Maeada, Moeno, Chiyuu and Sakiko (I think) together in a room as Sakiko updates the MINT Blog, and the two discuss something. When the music starts we have a mix of the girls dancing and of images of the blog, when the singing starts we shy away from the blog. We see Acchan sit down at the laptop to look at the blog, after she goes back a few posts we're treated to faux dance footage of their 5th single INDIVIDUAL, accompanied by a behind the scenes photo. We then see stuff from the 4th single, but I can't tell what it's called. We then get some from the 2nd single, and finally their st single 'by myself'. It seems to me they look happier the further back we look. We then see the other 4 looking at the laptop, and finish with a shot of the blog showing the dance background as an image, I'm guessing Maeda decided to put more happiness in then.

The B-type B-side is DIVA (not to be confused with a later development) with Nakeru Basho.
DIVA
Team A: Oya Shizuka, Kuramochi Asuka, Nakata Chisato, Nakaya Sayaka, Matsubara Natsumi
Team K: Akimoto Sayaka, Uchida Mayumi, Umeda Ayaka, Tanabe Miku, Nonata Misato
Team B: Kobayashi Kana, Sato Amina, Sato Natsuki, Suzuki Nariya, Chikano Rina, Masuda Yuka
Team S: Oya Masana
The song talks about coping with the loss of the one you loved the most, wanting them to still be with you, looking at old phone photos and the like. The PV starts pre-music with the girls on a bus, which happens to past a poster advertising the song. The first part with music still has the girls on the bus, mostly ignoring each other, before coming to where they're performing. A large group of fans show they're support as they walk past. We get to see the girls practicing they're moves backstage, before melting into the actual performance, and toward the end we see them walking past the fans again, the girls seem happier or more appreciative this time around. We also see the fans being all excited.

Done, and with 3 minutes to spare

24 days of singles day 17: Heavy Rotation and Namida no Seesaw Game

This is quite late in the day, but I have no true excuse. This is another Senbatsu election single, so
I'll start with the Undergirls B-side.

Ranking, from 40 to 22: Ishiguro Atsuki (Kenkyuusei), Matsubara Natsumi (A), Yagami Kumi (S), Katayama Haruka (A), Yamauchi Suzuran (Kenkyuusei), Takayanagi Akane (KII), Yonezawa Rumi (34), Fujie Reina (K), Umeda Ayaka (K), Sato Sumire (B), Momori Mika (B), Nito Moeno (K), Shimazaki Haruka (Kenkyuusei), Kuramochi Asuka (A), Oota Aika (A)
The song is about to lovers breaking up for the last time, and how the one singing wanted to be the one to leave first, but in the end is left watching the other leaving with tears down their face. The PV starts in a dressing room, and as they're given the 5 minute call their manager gives them a motivational speech (in english), they're then introduced by a guy with a funky afro. The first half of the song, which has for it's story and dance version the same thing, is done as a black and white television broadcast until the manager backstage hits the TV he's watching on, then it become colour for the remainder.

And now the Senbatsu, from 21 to 1: Miyazaki Miho (B), Nakagawa Haruka (A), Sashihara Rino (A), Sato Amina (B), Akimoto Sayaka (K), Kitahara Rie (B), Ono Erena (K), Minegishi Minami (K), Takajo Aki (A), Kasai Tomomi (B), Matsui Rena (S), Matsui Jurina (S), Miyazawa Sae (K), Kashiwagi Yuki (B), Kojima Haruna (A), Takahashi Minami (A), Watanabe Mayu (B), Itano Tomomi (K), Shinoda Mariko (A), Maeda Atsuko (A), Oshima Yuko (K). Yes that's right, Yuko beat Acchan. You probably already knew this, but this would've been ground breaking for fans at the time. The song talks about being in love with someone and the thought of them being on 'Heavy Rotation' in your head. I know the feeling.
Warning! Warning! The to be described PV contains pure unleaded fanservice, if you wish to avoid severe blood loss look away now.
We start with our view looking through a keyhole to see Yuko removing a top to reveal the lengerie she's wearing as she looks toward us. It's too late, they've lost too much blood. The dance version has them dancing in a studio with microphones, a theme to be repeated next year. We get several of the girls in lingerie having a pillow fight, we get a camera panning over the girls in lingerie on the widest bed known to humanity (they're all comfortably seperated), some of them read a book together, heart-shaped lollipops are passed down the bed, Kasai kisses Yukirin, we get some of them as nekogals, feeding each other, Tomochin shares a donut with someone else, Mariko doesn't share a heart biscuit with Mayu, Takamina refuses to give Yukirin any cherries, Tomochin and Takamina share a jelly, Acchan kisses her reflection, Acchan and Takamina share a piece of cake, both Matsui's share a bath, Tomochin and Acchan kiss each other, then Takamina, Yuko and Acchan kiss, rose petals fall on the girls on the bed, and after Yuko delivers the final 'Hebii Roteshion' she goes shh and winks to us through the keyhole. Are you still there? Whats that mess? Oh well, just leave him there, nothing we can do now.

The A-type's B-side this time is Yasai Sisters a song that was used to promote some juice drink, as part of it the girls wore their costumes from the MV and drank the juice drink. Featured on the single are:
Team A: Oota Aika, Kuramochi Asuka, Kojima Haruna, Sashihara Rino, Shinoda Mariko, Takajo Aki, Takahashi Minami, Maeda Atsuko, Maeda Ami
Team K: Akimoto Sayaka, Itano Tomomi, Oshima Yuko, Ono Erena, Nito Moeno, Minegishi Minami, Miyazawa Sae
Team B: Kasai Tomomi, Kashiwagi Yuki, Kitahara Rie, Momori Mika, Sato Sumire, Miyazaki Miho, Watanabe Mayu
Team S: Matsui Jurina, Matsui Rena
I could list what vegatables each of the girls are, but then what would you learn. Another thing is Ishida Haruka appears in Erepyon's place in the MV, but I can't work out why, the most obvious reason shouldn't have happened yet. The song is about the vegetables, naming them and working together to make the juice drink. The PV starts with a tomato being cut off it's palnt, it lands on the ground as Acchan and says, in the cutest possible voice 'Ohayo'. We effectively start with the dance version for the chorus, before getting the front members bordered by the vegetable they represent. The secon chorus has them all together on a spinning platform, and they start boxing themselves as we get the rest of the members boredered by vegatables. We get a few of them on a cart, and when we get to spelling 'vegetables' again we have a few of them on a market stall I guess. We see them fill up the liquifier, and them all aborably lying together on a spinning platform, and the REAL vegetables being liquified and the result poured into a glass. I should probably warned you about the melting from adorable huh?

The B-type B-Side is Lucky Seven, featuring.
Team A: Kojima Haruna, Sahihara Rino, Shinoda Mariko, Takajo Aki, Takahashi Minami, Maeda Atsuko
Team K: Itano Tomomi, Oshima Yuko, Minegishi Minami, Miyazawa Sae
Team B: Kasai Tomomi, Kashiwagi Yuki, Kitahara Rie, Komori Mika, Miyazaki Miho, Watanabe Mayu
The song is a warning not to be scared by what happens, but have the courage to make your way through it. The MV has the girls as pirates, three of them wake up and we then shift to a ship's deck, and get a view of the galley through a portait, with some of them cooking, and Yukirin throws the food to the wating pirate's plates. We then get a bit of dance version. We then get Mariko drinking rum while some of them fight over clothes, she then throws her glass at the wall between Tomo~mi and Miichan, later she plots the course as 4 of the girls steer. Some of them are investigating a cave, and find the treasure. Maeda shoots an apple on Yuko's head. We suddenly get the girls in more standard uniforms, and we finish with the dance version in those uniforms.

Two last things on the entire thing here. One version of this's covers had Yuko fulfill her lifelong dream of groping Harunyan with her legs. The other is that this is Ono Erena's last single as she graduated by the end of the year. However, a year later she announced she is returning to showbiz in acting. Well thats that, and still 19 minutes till midnight. Make that 18.

Naruhodo High School 20

This won't be a permanent feature, I'm just taking a look at this episode from October since I'm watching it.

This show is sort of a learning deal, the AKB members are set tasks to learn things, though this week, which apparently was the last week before some changes, was a special featuring 'Sempai Idol 48', a group of older idols, both male and female brought together for this episode, and had for the first section the girls learning some interesting facts about there sempai, such as what they're doing now, and one male Idol apparently once had a really big star holding his hand backstage at an event. The viewers don't find out who, but it's told to one of the MCs, who tells the other MCs as well as Takamina, causing it to spread like wildfire through the 48 members present (including two NMB members). Some notable inclusions in the Sempai Idols is an older women who was apparently in the same niche as SDN, I know this cause I saw a year old episode of a show which had her, Takamina and some of SDN as guests, and the SDN girls were demonstrating their 'sexy skills' (I don't remember what it was called) and she demonstrated it as well. If your interested it can be found pretty easily by searching SDN, I think it's in the similar videos list for the only GAGAGA PV I found on youtube. It also features some of the girls who would be best called AKB's sempai, members of Onyanko Club.

Half way in we get sets of the girls performing some of the sempai's songs in appropiate dress, starting with Takamina, Ami, Yui, Mochikura and Myao as a boy band, followed by Sashii and Kitarie performing 'Pink Lady UFO' (or is it as) from 1977. Mayu, Lemon and Miyu (I think) are next with a song from 81, Miichan and the 2 NMB girls then perform one from 76 by the Candies. With most of the AKB girls behind them as backing vocals, Yukirin, Nyan Nyan, Akicha, and Chiyuu join a number of their true sempai in their first single, Seifuku o Nugasanai de. Acchan performs a solo number from 1980, before we head into a Sashihara led rendition of Heavy Rotation (never heard of this one) by all the AKB members who took part in the tribute acts, followed by Ponytail to Shushu.

For the second half we have group I think is made of crossdressers and transexuals, but some of them don't seem to be so I guess it's more than that. One of the crossdressers is as an AKB member, calling 'herself' COCO. Three of the transexuals are brought out, and Acchan, Sasshi and Harunyan get to touch one of theirs butt, before each getting to touch the same girls bust. I'm guessing they're freaked out by how real it feels. The second one actually exposes her breast. I'm sure not all of the girls in that studio were 16. We don't see much though, a nice heart blocks it from view. They then move on to the third girl, who more surreptitiously shows only those three her breast. There's also something with her cheeks, and they tough her butt as well. After revealing who's surgery cost the most, we're shown thse three as they were as men. Silicon breasts are brough in and the AKB girls take a look at them. Turns out the most expensive surgery was done to make her look a lot like Angelina Jolie. After revealing that her change cost not a single yen, COCO is brought to sit with the AKB members. Unfortuantely there was the oversight of putting her next to Yui, ensuring she'll be totally ignored. I kid. After that we get some pictures of members which I guess are meant to be them without make-up (they look exactly the same). One gues, Kaba points out how Takaminas pose it too manly. A bit later we have COCO and one AKB girl I don't recognise swapped.

This was interesting, though I homestly preferred the first half seeing AKB with their sempai, and I think the Onyakon Club team up deserves a mention.

Shukan AKB 111216

I'm still doing this because It's a continuation of last weeks.

The first group this week is Umechan, Lovetan, Shimuda and Ami. Lovetan is sent up and chooses E.
The teacher (Ayaka) is asked a question by Love-tan, and he offers assistance by giving a hint (Ojiichan). She can only guess dodgeball, and the teacher pats her head, sayin 'kawaii'. Love-tan says something which is presumably getting quite forward, for declaring 'sensei' to be 'stekii', and then stands up and grabs his arm. He pushes her off, and says it's inappropriate. Love-tan apologises but continues to say how she likes sensei. After a few rebuffs, he says something that makes her hug him.Naturally it is this moment pupils Shimuda and Ami enter, and Sensei quickly pushes her off, put Shimuda works out what seems to be happening. Mocking starts over it, but he tells them to stop. The major bit of improv comes in as Shimuda declares she loves Sensei, and glomps him. Love-tan pulls her off, and a fights stopped by Ami. Sensei finishes rebuking Shimuda only for Ami to hug him as well, and Shimuda tries to pull her off, but resorts to grabbing his back instead. They then all say what they like about him, but Sensei reveals he's already decided, just as they try to work out who they're joined by a female teacher played by a production crew, and his choice should be obvious.  Soem stuff is said, and we get what I assume is some cultural reference, and the girls are sent out. The female teacher leans in for a kiss, and Ayaka just pushes him/her away, before leaving.

The second cast is Umechan, Moeno, Fujie, Amina, Sumire and Shimuda. I don't remeber if I said this before, but Shimuda looks nothing like her public picture. Amina chooses Script B. The scene starts with Ayaka and Sumire entering the park together, and sitting down on a bench. They make a pinky promise (I never though i'd have to say that, let alone type it, and Ayaka kisses the air while Sumire's backs turned, as she told her to clse her eyes, she opens them to find a silver hear on a chain around her neck, as a birthday present. They then actually lean in to kiss when a phone rings. Ayaka tries to ignore it, but Sumire's distracted, so Ayaka relents and answers it, it's urgent and she has to go. Sumire's annoyed because she's always doing this, and nearly slaps her, before running off angry, Ayaka running off as well so we can have a scene change.

Shimuda is holding Amina at gunpoint, at an angle I think could well shoot her arm as well. 3 detectives, Moeno, Fujie and the guy whos in all of these are trying to talk him down. it's pretty much a stalemate as Fujie and Moeno hve guns pointed at her. Umeda arrives and gets filled in, and has Moeno mock Shimuda. After that she has Fujie walk towards Shimuda and appeal to him a little. Ayaka starts to list reasons she shouldn't do it, but Shimuda gets a little fed up. As this doesn't work Ayaka starts stepping closer to Shimuda. Eventually Shimuda shoots her. We have a pretty pathetic slow motion running sequence as she falls, Shimuda drops to her knees and Amina's just shocked. However it turns out she was saved by the neckalce, and everyones relieved. They then just start dancing to Namida Surprise, and Sumire just sort of shows up.

Shukan AKB news gives us more about Ue Kara Mariko.

24 days of singles day 16: Ponytail to Shushu and Nusumareta Kuchiburi

First up with the common A-side.

Senbatsu
Team A: Kojima Haruna, Maeda Atsuko, Takahashi Minami, Takajo Aki, Shinoda Mariko
Team K: Itano Tomomi, Minegishi Minami, Miyazawa Sae, Oshima Yuko, Ono Erena
Team B: Kashiwagi Yuki, Kitahara Rie, Miyazaki Miho, Watanabe Mayu
Team S: Matsui Jurina
The song talks about being in love with a girl with a ponytail, and wanting to be with them on a beach. The first 2 minutes before the song starts have a dog walking through the girls locker room, and we're shown they're at least topless, with something always conveniently blocking the sight. When they're all dressed Erepyon notices the dog, and they gather round till it barks, and then they all flee into the conveniently on showers. That has nothing to do with the music video at all. The actually song has dance segments of the girls on a beachi in bikinis, and we're shown them engaging it various activities, such as cycling, washing cars, surfing, TomoTomo sharing a hammock, getting ice creams, attempting to hitchhike, and then succeeding, sharing pizzas, and cycling Jurina being picked up by the hitchhikers.

The common B-Side is Nusumareta Kuchiburim the Undergirls single.
Undergirls
Team A: Iwasa Masaki, Oota Aika, Katayama Haruka, Kuramochi Asuka, Sashihara Rino, Maeda Ami
Team K: Akimoto Sayaka, Kikuchi Ayaka, Nito Moeno, Fujie Reina
Team B: Oku Manami, Komori Mika, Sato Amina, Sato Sumire
Team S: Matsui Rena, Yagami Kumi
The song talks about love how stolen kisses can mean so much. The MV starts with a girl alone on a beach, before the music starts and we get the dancing on the beach surrounded by fire I'm not sure is actually there. While the dance segments have them in uniform, they're in bikinis for the indiviual shots.

The unique B-side for the B-versions is Theatre Girls Boku no YELL
Theatre Girls
Team A: Oya Shizuka, Nakagawa Haruka, Nakata Chisato, Nakaya Sayaka, Matsubara Natsumi
Team K: Uchida Mayumi, Umeda Ayaka, Tanabe Miku, Nakatsuka Tomomi, Nonako Misato, Matsui Sakiko, Yonezawa Rumi
Team B: Ishida Haruka, Kobayashi Kana, Sato Natsuki, Suzuki Mariya, Chikano Rina, Hirajima Natsumi, Masuda Yuka
Team Kenkyuusei: Ishiguro Atsuki, Ueki Asaka, Oba Mina, Kinumoto Momoko, Sano Yuriko, Shimazaki Haruka, Shimada Haruka, Takamatsu Eri, Takeuchi Miyu, Nagao Mariya, Nakamura Mariko, Fujimoto Sara, Mori Anna, Yamauchi Suzuran, Yokoyama Yui
The song talks about yelling to give support and encourage someone. The MV starts with a girl running, before the usic starts and the girls are on a 'ahem' soccer pitch, as a soccer team. Theres some story with practicing, later in a game some of the girls support the others from the sidelines. As the other team score, we see the girls getting water as the running girl appears momentarily. Despite continued efforts, the goalkeeper keeps blocking all the shots to the goal. We see what looks to be the girls just putting a lot of effort into training (incidentally this is how a kenkyuusei should work). One of the girls is injured, leading to a penalty, which is saved. Running girl appears again. The members spell out YELL from themselves, and the running girl reaches the pitch.

The B-Type B-side is another Majijo song, Majiji Teppen Blues
Team A: Oota Aika/Lovetan, Kuramochi Asuka/Kokabuki, Kojima Haruna/Torigoya, Sashihara Rino/Wota, Shinoda Mariko/Sado, Takajo Aki/Akicha, Takahashi Minami/Minami, Maeda Atsuko
Team K: Akimoto Sayaka/Chokoku, Itano Tomomi/Shibuya, Oshima Yuko, Ono Erena, Nito Moeno/Bungee, Miyazawa Sae/Gakuran
Team B: Oku Manami/Manamana, Kasai Tomomi/Ookabuki, Kashiwagi Yuki/Black, Kitahara Rie/Unagi, Komori Mika/Mukuchi, Miyazaki Miho/Myao, Watanabe Mayu/Nezumi
Team S: Matsui Rena/Gekikara, Matsui Jurina
SDN48: Nachu/Onizuka Daruma
Due to the nature of this song as basically summing up the series, I'll cover the MV and song at the same time. Before the song starts, with have student president Minegishi Minami making an announcement over the schools PA system, before playing Majisuka Rock 'n' Roll. We see a few extras during this, as wells as Minegishi's crazy dancing, Nezumi walking back an forth along a line, before Team hormone barge in. They turn off the song, and when Minegishi protests Wota tells her what they want to play on the PA. The first verse is about the fact they're going up the stairs, while the dance version starts with the characters in the gym, with some Yabujo girls at the back, and the story version has Maeda, Daruma and Team Hormone heading for the stairs. We then get a sequence as Daruma, Team Hormone, Kabuki Sisters and Gakuran pledge support to Maeda, while Chokoku gives a verse from a poem. Nezumi then comments on what could happen if someone else appears on the stairs. We're told Rappappa have accepted the challenge, as Yuko leads them to the stairs, and the two groups meet at one flight of stairs. Yuko, Sado and the Shittenou all deliver a threat, followed by Sanshom Sisters just saying they'll take Maeda on, and Erena's declaring she hates Maeda. As the two groups approach one another Minami's ... ghost I guess appears saying that fightings pointless (and she knows, let me tell you), and Maeda just says 'Minami'. However the next verse it's clear the fight's going to continue. Yabakune appear here, and Maeda says they'll always take them on. As the music ends Jurina asks if she'll get up the stairs, with Nezumi near by, before Jurina starts up the stairs. We go back to the PA. Minegishi is tied up and crying, while Team Hormone still have the room, and Maeda's looking at the speaker in a corridor. Suddenly Mukuchi picks up the microphone and says 'Maji daiyo'to the rest of the teams shock, and Maeda notices, but doesn't take off her glasses. Minegishi then starts crying again.

I think I'll watch Majijo Teppen Blues uniterrupted now.

Bimyo 12

Hade ni ikuze.

We start this week with a driving instructor (Takamina?) meeting his student (Akicha), after shaking hands he keeps hold of her hand for a moment. He tells her to get in the car, then immediately stops her. He gives some explanation which I think confuses her, and he keeps laughing at her answers. He again tells her to satart, but again stops her (seems to be massaging her hands), and then gives some complicated explantion involving Acchan and Yuko, and compares her to a Kenkyuusei. Stopping her from entering the car again, he practically hugs her,and then says something to do with Sayanee and Acchan, ending with waving at something offscreen.

Miori is a cricket? Looking for her mother, when Amina and Shimada, her sisters appear, the two older sisters get into an argument before Miori notices their mother. She's stuck to fly paper. Amina tries to help, but merely falls on the paper. Shimada, after some encouragent tries to use Amina as a steppign stone, but falls in as well. Miori goes to fetsh a rope, and carfully balances on her sisters, before failing to throw the mother the rope a few times. However, when she tries to pull the mother, she only pulls herself onto the paper. So we see the despair of this family, all doomed to die stuck to something, and it's all for comedy.

2 girls (sisters?) are sat on a sofa, not talking, when mother Amina comes in with a tray. One of them says something about the other, Sumire, and she delives a rousing one-woman performance until she notices the rose she's holding's but her. She apologises, and Aminasays something about love, causing another performance before she starts strangling herself and has to be shaken out of it by her sister. She apologises again, and takes a banana, and starts eating when a robber comes in with a knife. After demanding money or something, he reveals he can't afford to buy christmas presents, and Sumire gives a non-flowery impassioned plea. Amina returns with the money, but he's changed his mind, and is just thanking Sumire when he slips on the banana skin, accidentally stabbing Sumire with the knife, and she falls dead. We then cut to Sumire being offerd a banana, which she refuses because of what she's seen.

We're shown a guy with a beard, who smokes cigars, is apparently a hit with the ladies, and is Yui. He manages to get a women to take a cell phone picture with him just by being there, and then puts her hands toether, holding the table, before balancing a glass on her hands and filling it with beer, and then leaves her stuck like that. A drunk guy stumbles into him and apologises, but Yui forgives him, pats a sign i can only assume says kick me onto his back, and leaves him to puke on a wall. He then finds a woman passed out on the floor with beer cans around her, and balances 3 of them on her forehead. He walks off, and we see the woman woken up when she moves, the man still vomiting, and the first woman still stuck.

Myao and another girl are apologising to Amina for something to do with stage performance which seems to have gone badly wrong. She has a lot to say about it, but I'm not really sure what it is. Eventually she lets them demonstrate a trick, but all Myao does is cover Amina with the cloth she was using. She lets them demonstrate with a flag, and Myao hides her from our sight, and thn reveals her with an eye patched up. She walks off, annoyed.

Myao is a news reporter being led in by the director. She gives her introduction to the going ons, and is joined by a 76 year old Kitarie, who then calls over her(?) rather large pink rabbit, who semms rather keen for her to stop touching it. Eventually the rabbit has enough and punches her in the stomach several times before pushing her onto the ground. Kitarie still describes it as cute though as it walks off. She next calls over a raccoon, which demonstrates it's ability to swing a tennis racket. She enthusiastically hugs it, causing it to push her on the ground and start beating her with some straw. She still feels it's cute. Next up is a grey bear, which i swears being referred to by the same name it was when it was in sketch a few weeks back. She hugs it, eventually knocking them to the ground, and the helmet falls off. Yui (it's now officially the same bear from that sketch) then just knocks her over and starts punching her, and walks off angrily. She's still cute though. (Don't we know it ^^)

Over all a fun episode, I find it interesting the last two episodes have featured reappearances of things from previous episodes (Specifically Yui) and while Honmayan 2 was very much the sequel to the first one (I guess Honmayan King resurrected her), here it's more of a case of two seperate stories sharing a mostly background character.

24 days of singles day 15: Sakura no Shiroi and Majisuka Rock 'n' Roll

I'll say it now, I don't much like Sakura no Shiroi, but thats not what this is about.

First Sakura no Shiori's Senbatsu
Team A: Kojima Haruna, Maeda Atuko, Takahshi Minami, Shinoda Mariko
Team K: Itano Tomomi, Miyazawa Sae, Oshima Yuko, Ono Erena
Team B: Kasai Tomomi, Kitahara Rie, Kashiwagi Yuki, Miyazaki Miho, Watanabe Mayu
Team S: Matsui Jurina
However it should be noted that apparently every AKB member, plus Rena contributes to this song.
The song talks about starting on a new road, as the cherry blossoms fall.
The PV starts with footage from behind the scenes as the members prepare. When the song starts we have the members walking around in Kimono's, and the dance version is less dancing and more arm movements, but in uniforms. We keep on getting little texts in the corner sayin 'xxx48' ie UEN48, but I don't know what that's about.

We now come to the real star of this releae, specifically the opening for Majisuka Gakuen and probably my 2nd favorite of the Majijo songs.
The single itself obviosuly doesn't feature all the Majisuka characters, but I'll tell you who it does have.
Team A: Kojima Haruna/Torigoya, Maeda Atsuko, Shinoda Mariko/Sado
Team K: Akimoto Sayaka/Chokoku, Itano Tomomi/Shibuya, Oshima Yuko, Ono Erena
Team B: Kashiwagi Yuki/Black, Watanabe Mayu/Nezumi
Team S: Matsui Jurina, Matsui Rena/Gekikara
The song talks about how the fightings kind of pointless, and mentions cleaning up the deliquents, which seems oddly like Maeda's storyline from Gakuen 2.
The song opens with the dance version, or rather just wrecking havok in the staff room, faces to be seen include Nachu/Onizuka Daruma and Takahashi Minami/Minami wearing a Majijo uniform and also interesting is Nezumi seems to be wearing only a sweater rather than her hoodie. The story mostly shows what it's like in Majijo to begin with, as well as using clips from the series. We're shown the Kabuki Sisters, Gakuran, the Sanshom Sisters, Chokouku, and the dance version actually has just about everyone. Towards the end we get to bits from the opening, with Showa, Rice, Jumbo and Anime coming down the stairs, the Shittenou coming in front of them and then Sado taking the lead, while we have Maeda leading Daruma, they come across Yuko, who turns to face them, Rappappa joins her (hold on is that Dance?), and as Maeda removes her glasses we get the 'Sank You' from her.

Depending on whether you get the A or B type regular editions, you'll have one of two more B-sides, the Theatre Edition has both. These were part of a campaign involving magazines Weekly Playboy and Young Jump, with a team representing each of them, presumably also doing a shoot for the magazines together.

Type-A features Enkyori Poster sung by Team PB, while Type-B's Choose Me! stars Team YJ.

Team PB: Kashiwagi Yuki, Miyazawa Sae, Miyazaki Miho, Oota Aika, Nito Moeno, Takajo Aki, Maeda Ami. The song talks about the poster of an Idol on a persons wall and how the person who's wall it is loves her, and accepts it's just platonic. The PV starts inside the bedroom of this guy, and interestigly there's actually 2 posters, Team PB on the wall above the bed, and one of Yuki which we zoom into, and it's on here the dance version takes place, mixed with clips of various likely gravure shots. After a bit of this we suddenly have the girls in the bedroom with a large P and B, briefly, messing with the guy's globe, listening to his music, but aside from a bit of this it's the same as before, ending with a shot of the guy looking at Yuki's poster.

Team YJ: Kasai Tomomi, Kitahara Rie, Nakagawa Haruka, Minegishi Minami, Sashihara Rino, Kuramochi Asuka, Kikuchi Ayaka. The song is about being to nervous to confess to a boy, and asking that he choose you rather than the others, while feeling your probably not what he's looking for. The dance, in uniform is on a beach, while mixed with clips of the girls just about coping with it, theres defninitely a hint of loneliness.

Well tomorrow, if I recall, has a far more energetic A-side.

AKBINGO 111214

Prepare for this week to be less understood than last week.

We're back to the normal opening now, and since I did it last time I'll go over the orders here.
Maeda Atsuko, Kojima Haruna, Takahashi Minami, ???, Kitahara Rie, Minegishi Minami, Itano Tomomi, Kashiwagi Yuki, Takajo Aki, Miyazaki Miho, Watanabe Mayu, Sashihara Rino, Oshima Yuko, Matsui Rena, Matsui Jurina, Akimoto Sayaka, Kasai Tomomi, Miyazawa Sae, Shinoda Mariko.

From what I understand of this game, around half the girls in the session dress up as boys, and when given the situations by Sata, who serves as the teacher, they give a suggestion they think will appeal to girls, which the girls sat watching can show their approval of by waving their fans. The initial entrance leaves quite an impression, but the last to enter, late, is a rather large individual. Amongst our boys are: Sashihara, Kitahara, Mineshishi, Miyakawa, Takahashi, Itano, Yokoyama, Shinoda, Akimoto and someone else.

Amongst the girls watching are Umeda, Nito, Fujie, Amina, Ami, Kasai, Oya, Sakiko, Sumire.

The first thing Sae says calls a mass of approval, Tomochin gets points for being cool.
The first thing is a '3S' one where each sentence must start with an s.
The first 2 sentences are given, 'sawayaka; meaning refreshing/invigorating, and 'Seijitsu' relating to honesty.
Suggested sentences are: Something from Sasshi, which is at least understood, and Ayaka supports it, and Sayaka demonstrates to a mass of support. Takahashi says something to do with white suits, which after explaining it gets a cry of approval. Next is Yui, who looks better here than last time they did this, and aw look she's getting all embarassed by Sata's comments. Her doesn't get much support. Sayaka says something to do with 100, not sure what. Itano next, and Sata doesn't seem to thinke hers is much good, but what he's saying is met with approval. Next we have Minegishi and WHY MUST YOU LOOK SO GOOD AS A BOY??? the comment about Sashihara is met with some approval. Sashihara goes next, followed by our mystery contender, who's coment is at least noted as kind of cute. Shinoda's gets her hit with a slipper. Kitahara gets maximum approval. So does Minegishi.

We move on to a new topic. This time the girls have to fill a gap in the steps. It has something to do with christmas presents.
I think Takahshi's involves proping marriage, but gets little support. Sae's, invoving Game Centre and UFO leads to max approval. I think Miegishi was just advertising a DVD of hers. Takahshi then gives an advert for no3b's new single, followed by Mariko advertising Ue Kara Mariko, but somewhere, either the advert or Sata's slipper slap gets high approval.Coem to think of it a few of those girls are in the Janken Senbatsu. Tomochin also advertises Ue Kara Mariko, though since she's not in that it's odd. Unless she's advertising the christmas B-Side. Sae once again gets max approval. Kitahara's wall of text gets some fair approval. Mariko's one involves ones grandmother. Sayaka's apparently shocks a few of the girls.

We come to another round, involving a question. Takahashi's does OK. Minegishi's doesn't quite appeal as much as she has before. Mariko's falls flat. Kitahra's was apparently cute, and we see Yui and mystery girl discussing something. However when Yui delivers we don't get much. Mariko's next one was funny.

The next event involves what you'll say while defending a girl from some punks. Once again Yui and mystery girl have discussed something, which leads to myster girl getting slipper slapped. Takahashi's does alright, Tomochin's causing a wierd reaction from Sata. Mariko basically says 'wait a minute now'. Kitahara's gets appreciated, and Mystery girl's was just funny. Miichan has written 'Hello, my name is Takeshi. Konohito wa tashkete agete forpasmi please' whatever that means. Yui gives another courtesy of mystery girl. Shinoda gives a gag. Tomochin's causes Sata to call out in surprise. I just noticed some of the girls at the back have gone. Guess we know who some of next times boys will be. Takahashi's falls flat, and another one from Yui makes some coment on Kiyoto. Shinoda's next one is just 'Sata'. Yui's next one seems to be some kind of Kaiju.

AKB48 News now. The first part seems to be about some event, or maybe 3, the last one seems to be with Yuko as centre. We also have something on Ue Kara Mariko, probably it selling more than 1,000,000 copies on the first week. We're then given the music video for the christmas B-side. Next week we're getting a winter fashion show.

We finish off with Takahashi giving one more suggestion, which turns into a duest with Sayaka.

And thats that. I might update this when I have a better idea what's going on, but for now I reccomend checking Smilodon's Tumblr, listed on the side in a day or 2, as it'll no doubt be far more accurate, if far more compact. Oh and Yui's in the christmas B-side. Maybe we'll get some fashion from her next time. And just a few weeks now till we possibly get another Prank episode or 2.

24 days of singles day 14: RIVER, Kimi no Koto no Suki dakara, Hikouki Gumo.

This single in terms of the B-sides is a progression of Iiwake Maybe's, and I believe every non-Kenkyuusei member of AKB48 sings somewhere on this single.

Senbatsu
Team A: Kojima Haruna, Shinoda Mariko, Takahashi Minami, Maead Atsuko.
Team K: Akimoto Sayaka, Itano Tomomi, Oshima Yuko, Ono Erena, Minegishi Minami, Miyazawa Sae
Team B: Kasai Tomomi, Kashiwagi Yuki, Kitahara Rie, Miyazaki Miho, Watanabe Mayu
Team S: Matsui Jurina.
You might have noticed a few differences in the teams people are in, I believe that it's here that the divide between the old and new teams occured, which I suspect was a plan by Akimoto to improve one of the teams popularities.

I like RIVER quite a bit. Whether its the fact it changes style about 5 times, or the AAAAKKKKKKBBBBBBB, 48 at the beginning, I can't say. The song is about moving forward, motivating yourself to carry on through the river of fate. The MV starts with them dancing in a military hangars, and I quite like this singles constumes, some of them have trilby's. The story is about the girls as some military unit both preparing at the base and wading through a river to reach their goal.

Undergirls
Team A: Oota Aika, Katayama Haruka, Kuramochi Asuka, Sashihara Rino, Takajo Aki, Maeda Ami, Nakagawa Haruka
Team K: Kikuchi Ayaka, Fujie Reina, Nito Moeno,
Team B: Oku Manami, Ishida Haruka, Sato Amina, Sato Sumire, Komori Mika,
Team S: Matsui Rena,

Kimi no Koto no Suki dakara is about being in love, and all the things you'll do for them just because of that. The MV has them dancing in a field, and story segments have them cleaning a drained swimming pool while messing around a little as well. It starts raining, which leads most of the girls to have even more fun, but one of them walks off.

Theatre Girls
Team A: Iwasa Masaki, Oya Shizuka, Matsubara Natsumi, Nakato Chisato,
Team K: Uchida Mayumi, Uneda Ayaka, Tanabe Miku, Matsui Sakiko, Makatsuka Tomomi, Nakaya Sayaka, Nonako Misato, Yonezawa Rumi
Team B: Kobatashi Kana, Sato Natsuki, Suzuki Mariya, Chikano Rina, Hirajima Natsumi, Masuda Yuka.

Hokouki Gumo is conversely about loving snd how you once thought you had it all, and compares loves lasting to jet trails. The MV is pretty simple, it's nothing more than a stage performance, but it's still nice to watch.

24 days of singles day 13: Iiwake Maybe and Tobenai Agehachou

I'll do this one slightly differently due to it's nauture. I will point out for the first time the B-side has a musci video, which I will cover. This also marks the first use of the Undergirls unit, which is made of a number of girls who aren't in the Senbatsu, this has lead to Theatre Girls being used to refer to all the girls who aren't Senbatsu or Undergirls. However most notably, this is the first 'Senbatsu Election' single, where fans who bought Namida Surprise were able to vote for which member they wanted to be in the next single. The top 21 made Senbatsu, and 22 to 30 were the first Undergirls.

I'm covering the Undergirls track first here so I can tally up the positions.
So, from 30 to 22, the Undergirls: Matsubara Natsumi (K), Matsui Rena (S), Katayama Haruka (B), Sashihara Rino (B), Hirajima Natsumi (B), Masuda Yuka (K), Ohori Megumi (K), Takajo Aki (A), Yonezawa Rumi (B).

The song itself is about falling in love, but this just leads to despair over the person, and insisting it's love rather than lust. However love has set them free from the chrysalis. The MV is interesting, even though it's just the girls dancing in an old abandoned warehouse, but fairly enjoyable nonetheless.

And now, from 21 to 1, Senbatsu: Kuramochi Asuka (K), Oota Aika (B), Matsui Jurina (S), Miyazaki Miho (A), Urano Kazumi (B), Minegishi Minami (A), Sato Yukari (A), Miyazawa Sae (K), Kitahara Rie (A), Akimoto Sayaka (K), Ono Erena (K), Kasai Tomomi (K), Kashiwagi Yuki (B), Sato Amina (A), Itano Tomomi (A), Kojima Haruan (A), Takahashi Minami (A), Watanabe Mayu (B), Shinoda Mariko (A), Oshima Yuko (K), Maeda Atsuko (A).

Iiwake Maybe is about biking , an thinking how they started to worry about someone when they couldn't see them over summer, and realising that it's love, despite initially making excuses.
The MV starts before the music with Yuko yelling at Maeda about something while Takahashi tries to stop her, before the two get into a fight, with Sayaka and Sae trying to stop it. According to Yuki, Mayu and Aika it has something to do with Maeda playing baseball. A familiar teacher walks past Maeda, who's sat down, before she sees the fight. She sends all of the girls on a bike ride as punisment. The dance scenes are all them in uniform (not the ones in the school mind) dancing at the school, but I'll talk about the race. Mayu takes a lead on her two friends, Yuko's ahead of Maeda and Takahashi, a number of the girls overtake Haruna, and Mariko stops to put on her sunglasses, before just zooming past some of them. Maeda starts to draw ahead of Yuko, but it's still fierce for a while. Maeda stops noticing Takahashi's fallen, and goes to help her, Yuko initially taking the lead from this before looking behind then turning round. We cut forward and Maeda stops just before the line, she's joined here by Yuko, Takahashi, Sae and Mariko, soon most of the girls are there, when the last 3 girls come along, and the first of thm, Sayaka just races over the line, to the rest of thems dissapointent.

Well it's late. 11 pm for me. I had issues earlier, but they've gone it seems. See you tomorrow, hopefully earlier.

24 days of singles day 12: Namida Surpise! and Shonichi and FIRST LOVE

This single notably features a fair difference to the previously standard format.

The Senbatsu for Namida Surprise is:
Team A: Itano Tomomi, Kitahara Rie, Kojima Haruna, Shinoda Mariko, Fujie Reina, Takahashi Minami, Maeda Atsuko, Minegishi Minami, Miyazaki Miho.
Team K: Oshima Yuko, Ono Erena, Kasai Tomomi, Miyazawa Sae.
Team B: Kashiwagi Yuki, Sashihara Rino, Nito Moenon, Watanabe Mayu.
Team Kenkyuusei: Komori Mika
Team S: Matsui Jurina, Matsui Rena.

So here we have the first single to feature a Kenkyuuei, unless I've misssed one previously.
Namida surprise is about surprising someone on their birthday with the rest of the class, specifically when turning 17. On the PV, it starts with the girls in class and Maeda daydreaming about the teacher giving her flowers, and Haruna passes a note that goes through the class, as we start getting to the end of the day. As the bell goes and the music starts, and some of the girls cover Maeda's eyes and lead her out. The girls lead her through the corridor blindfolded, with obligatory dancing throughout, but no singing for Maeda, though she does a fair bit of dancing. She takes the blidfold off in front of some shroud, which falls to show they're in the gym, as the others start dancing to the chorus of 'Happy, Happy Birthday'. As the second verse opens a bunch of non-members reveal Kasai holding a cake, but she trips on a tennis ball and the cake goes flying, but Minegishi catches it and throws it to Yukirin, who poses with Moeno and Myao for a picture by Mariko and Mayu.We then go outside, where the goals are in groups posing before Maeda, Itano and Yuko come to mess the poses, followed by some others. The second chorus is in the cafeteria, accompanied by some breakdancing teachers and dinner ladies. We then get a round of 'Happy Birthday to you' as Maeda parts the sea of people before coming to Kojiharu who has the cake. After that it's mostly the dance version.

Shonichi is, surprisingly not sung by the Senbatsu, it's actually by Team B, and I'm going to attempt to list the members at the time.
Team B June 2009: Kashiwagi Yuki, Watanabe Mayu, Sashihara Rino, Nito Moeno, Saeka Mika, Urano Kazumi, Kohara Haruka, Hirajima Natsumi.
The song is about working hard so you can make it onto the stage for the first time, and putting in the effort to do so again.

FIRST LOVE is unique among the tracks on the singles as it's solo by Ono Erena. It's basically about your feelings when falling in love for the first time (never!) and how everything seems to change.
